Whether or not undocumented immigrants with criminal records should be deported depends on the circumstances. If any undocumented immigrants are found to have been convicted of crimes such as murder and rape, they ought to be deported as a crime prevention tactic, considering that murder and rape are serious felonies. However, undocumented immigrants should not be deported for committing assault, as assault is a misdemeanor.
As for your statements, you mentioned that "many people on the Left" want undocumented immigrants with murder and rape convictions to stay in the United States, but you provided no evidence of such. Geraldo Rivera does not represent "many people on the Left." A link to Geraldo Rivera's argument could also help, as I can analyze its context accurately. People who oppose deportations simply desire a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants as opposed to directly advocating for dangerous criminals to remain in America.
According to statistics provided by the Department of Homeland Security, an estimated 11 million immigrants in the United States are undocumented.[1] If approximately 400,000 undocumented immigrants have criminal records, this means that only about 3.63% of undocumented immigrants are convicted criminals. If it is true that 16,000 have been convicted of sexual assault and 57,000 have been convicted of drug offenses, then only 0.14% and 0.51% of all undocumented immigrants have been convicted of such crimes, respectively—very small numbers in the grand scheme of things. It's not surprising that the majority of crimes they committed are simple assaults and minor drug offenses.
Nevertheless, I do agree that the very few undocumented immigrants with serious offenses should be deported if discovered, mainly to prevent adding more to the numbers already present in the United States. Otherwise, because the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy reported that undocumented immigrants pay a large amount of taxes—over $96 billion in 2022[2]—the economic contributions of undocumented immigrants definitely outweigh the small percentage who are convicted criminals.
On the other hand, according to statistics provided by the National Conference of State Legislatures, approximately 77 million American citizens have criminal records.[3] When factoring in the approximate 335 million Americans living in the United States, about 23% of American citizens can be considered criminals, which is far more than 3.63%. The higher percentage should definitely be priority number one. Considering that Americans have a much higher total number of criminals, the United States should be more focused on dealing with serious crimes on its own soil.
Therefore, it is safe to say that "mass deportations" of undocumented "criminals and rapists" are really just a mass distraction from the true issues at hand, such as domestic crime. However, considering that our Commander in Chief pardoned over 1,000 criminals from prison simply because they supported him in the attack on Capitol Hill—many of whom were pedophiles and violent offenders who either got killed by the police or were sent back to prison—we know that the current administration isn't truly "tough on crime" as they claim to be.

I honestly don't think the voters vote for it. I go there on the streets and I don't see a single supporter of it at all. Where does this information come from? What media source? Is it from our national crime statistics?
It makes no sense that anyone would defend having CONVICTED criminals here. But are these people within our legal system? They've been convicted here? If they are, they should not be supported by our criminal justice system, but deported. This means our tax dollars are paying for them to be incarcerated. SEems counterintuitive.
However, this IS the practice in other countries. If you get convicted in another country of a crime there, you are incarcerated there.
Seems more rational to me to deport people who've committed serious crimes. . Since it costs less to deport people.
