California has a similar GDP to France alone. Largest ports in the Largest ocean. That's talking like the state as an isolated individual entirely.

If we're talking about the entirely of usa and usa having an ace up the sleave, I'd argue alaska. It's the nonsense reason don wants Greenland when we already have alaska. Alaska has military airbase that go over the north pole and target all of Europe and Russia in 1 hour.

Also Anchorage alaska is one of the largest cargo hubs in the globe. What California has in ships Anchorage has in air.

Then you got global warming opening up trade routes in the artic ocean.

So i live in alaska and there was some buzz early 2024 about putin declaring all lost Russia land was nulled and we have the right to take it back and the wording included alaska.

We laughed it off. I'm honestly worried of don bowing down to putin.

"We'll give you alaska back if you get us greenland?"

As stupid as it sounds I do have an emergency fund to fly out. Should figure out how to drive out if I need to.

California, but it's outnumbered in the Senate by a bunch of sparsely populated states. LA County alone has more people than about half of the states.

Texas doesn't own those bases, they just happen to be there. California also has many military bases but they aren't nearly as important to the California economy.

California by far. They can alter the auto, agriculture, tech, entertainment, shipping industries in the blink of an eye and has global influence
