Probably just to acknowledge that you don't know their stories or reasons. They may have a very valid reason.

What you likely should do after is to point out that individual tolerance is great and indeed the reason many checkbox verdicts have people making them so we can akcnowledge the person and circumstance. However that does not change basic simple truths like that pretty much every drug if used incorrectly is harmful.

That harmful substances, while they do not need to be removed, should naturally have failsafes and control that comes with them.

I strongly believe that wanting to do something is the best reason for most things. However that still comes with the caveat of a degree of responsibility for yourself and those around you.

It depends on the context. For example someone who says that in a video isn't expecting a response at all, because they are in a video and can't hear you.
