With the downfall of US power, how will the world look?

Well, at this point I think it is fairly decided that USA is going to lose most of its hard power and pretty much all of its soft power around the world. So in the absence of US authority, which new world powers are going to rise up and replace it? Personally I believe it is going to be more of a mixed bag with local powers springing up all over the place that controls their regions. China and India in Asia, the EU in Europe etc.. Russia.. well I would not be surprised if Russia actually fractures after the war with Ukraine.

I think that after the last 4 years the US was the butt monkey for the whole world. Putin invaded Ukraine, Hamas staged the Oct 7th raid in Israel and China was about to take over Taiwan. Once Biden bungled the Afghani withdrawal it was on full display how feckless and incompetent the Biden administration was.
Now that we have real leadership the world is standing up and taking notice. Trump is implementing a reciprocal tariff system on out trade partners to make a level playing field and is getting investors to come to the US and build factories and facilities to create good paying jobs for citizens.
He is also trying to cut the corporate tax rate to encourage investments in US businesses.
The military is experiencing the biggest spike in recruitment in decades and the southern border has reported a 93% drop in encounters with illegal aliens.
The stock market is at record rates. Even when there is a bad quarterly report it is not enough to discourage investors that are in it for the long term.
Trump is negotiating from a position of strength. Foreign countries need the US more than the US needs them.
The nation was rudderless for years and foreign countries were able to walk all over the US with no repercussions. All that changed on Jan 20th. No wonder all foreign leaders hate President Trump. Just that fact alone means we elected the right guy.

I partially disagree. The USA is not losing its hard power. It still has the most powerful military in the world. Soft power it is losing. The rest of the world is learning that the USA cannot be trusted and is not a reliable friend. Thus its ability to influence is waning. It can still be a bully using its military but will not have friends along side it... The USA will be going it alone.

Part of USA's hard power is its military alliances, AKA NATO and USA just shat all over NATO as well as fundamentally undermined the power of the alliance. Most recent example of this is the speech by US secretary of defense in this video:

I personally also think the direction of the military is wrong, especially with its massive excessive spending just fueling the military industry but that is besides the point. If Trump sabotages NATO directly like this then that will be a very large chunk of US hard power disappearing.

Yes do agree... however even without NATO the USA military is still massive. They still have that hard power. But more and more the Allies are Trump proofing them selves and moving away from USA influence. The current policies only help Russia, Iran and China Allies will soon stop sharing intelligence with the USA as well... making it more dangerous for America. But no matter what the USA still can project hard power if they want...

Oh yes, no denying that US military power is massive but its not NATO massive and if they are going on their own.. well USA is stuck on its own continent. Only the aircraft carriers can really project any sort of hard power in other parts of the world and there is a big difference between the military power of USA vs the military power of CVN-78 Gerald R. Ford. They are still spooky in their own rights but they can't be compared in any fair way.

Total NATO power less the USA is about equal to the USA alone. Most of the world spends its tax money on making lives better for their citizens than building massive armies... but hey this is a choice of the USA. But no Country can project hard power like the USA. I agree Aircraft carries are unique. But so is Nuclear Submarine and long range bombers. NATO really does not have capabilities like this. ( or as many of them)

The scariest part of NATO was not the members. It was that they became an extension of USA and allowed USA to fight in their countries and FROM their countries as if it was USA itself. The other NATO forces are nice and all but its fundamentally an alliance meant to allow other nations to fight through your national territory.

As for nuclear missiles, they are actually not that impactful as demonstrated in Ukraine. Simply put, they are weapons that can't be used in a traditional conflict. Nukes will not help you win wars that you could not already win with your military.. and if you can't win with your military.. well, you get to decide how badly you lost I guess?

I think your concept of regional domination is probably spot on for the foreseeable future. But, as far as Russia goes, they will be propped up by the Trump regime and may do a great deal of damage to all of Europe before things settle down. I think the world map may look very different a decade from now.

I dont know. There is going to have to be a lot of propping up if Russia is to survive. Putting aside all the generational damages, if we just take the economy by itself then that would still probably be enough to cripple the nation. Simply put, the Russian military industry and military recruitment has drained the civilian economy. People aren't working anymore so to speak unless it is to make bullets and tanks or serve on the front line. I personally have doubts if Russia will be able to go back to a peacetime economy at all.

USA hard power is still the top power. It's range will be neutered not having allies and supply routes. Thats where soft power is supposed to kick in and we've pissed that away.

So I'd guess usa will become a micro global economy in of itself with poor states becoming China like sweat shops.

I'd also guess lot of eastern Russia like north Siberia will be importing a lot of slave labor with global warming. Billions of refugees in empty land that will be fairly temperate. So spit powers between Russia and China.

The US might be past it's prime but there's not a country ready to replace it at the top. China is dealing with it's own problems and would need help. But if anything's become clear over the last few weeks, the US isn't interested in making friends around the world and that China is. It will be interesting to see who sides with who and what coalitions are formed over in the coming months

Not so sure. I think this came at a very unfortunate timing for China as they are struggling with incredible internal economic strain. If USA was actually up to the task I think that with some economic and diplomatic pressure you could even shatter the entire Chinese country at this point, they are not in a good position to take advantage of USA's downfall.

Granted, they did mostly step in and replace the position that USAID have had now when Trump wants to crush that agency which gives them a lot of the soft power that USA used to have. After all, USA already identified the opportunities to step in and influence foreign countries, would be a shame to let that leverage go away just because USA got bored of it eh?

But point is that China can't replace everything that USA is currently giving up.
