Did Joan of Arc deserve to become a saint?

Indirectly the church was discouraging other women from following into her footsteps which would have created a military class for women in the middle ages and that involved giving them rights which was not the way the church operated

@julie4 Anyone knowing the history of Joan of Arc, and knowing she was burned at the stake, at 19 years old, would want her 'Sainted" if there ever was such a thing.

Too bad that the barbarians that accused her, and then sentenced her to be burned to death at 19 years old, could NOT ALSO have suffered the same HORROR, or maybe be skinned alive and then burned at the stake.

The alleged 'human beings' that inhabit, and have inhabited this planet should be in absolute horror and shame at the barbarian acts that the Catholic Church have perpetrated on other human beings.

The sad thing was that Joan of Arc was betrayed by the French to the English.
Joan of Arc essentially ended the 100 years war and freed her country from the English. It was actually the beginning of the formation of France as we know it today.

The French king had betrayed her because she had made him king, defeated the English and as a religious icon was more powerful than him.
To the English she had defeated them in war and the fact that she claimed God had told her to drive the English out of France and had done so was dangerous to the English monarchy because not only did it invalidate the English claim to the French throne but it also implied that God was not with the English or the English king. So to invalidate her claim of divinity they tried her as a heretic, paid the authorities for the verdict.

In France, we've always had a party of foreigners. In Joan of Arc's time, one side supported the English, after that it was the Germans, during the Cold War it was the Russians, and today we have traitors ready to sell France to either the USA or Russia.
