Have you ever heard of Joan of Arc?

The Maid of Orleans? Of course. She is one of the most famous women in history.
A national hero and patron saint of France. Instrumental in keeping the French Monarchy out of British hands.
"... led the French army in a momentous victory at Orléans that repulsed an English attempt to conquer France during the Hundred Years’ War. Captured a year afterward, Joan was burned to death by the English and their French collaborators as a heretic. She became the greatest national heroine of her compatriots, and her achievement was a decisive factor in the later awakening of French national consciousness."
Yes know of her and her story of bravery ultimate betrayal well, sad how they just sacrificed her for all she did but that is the French for you not first time they did so to their own and ally, why do you ask, I will say this about her she was as beautiful as she was brave very intelligent and devout in her belief in God, the king of France just abandon her after the British captured her and the church to condemned her for wearing men's clothes and her belief in God but those were, no truth is wasn't for her inspiration there world be no France for the king to rule over, and he just let her abandon her because she was more popular than him by the army and civilians alike but what was also her demise was her vanity, had she not been so vain impulsive she allowed her hatred if the British to cloud her judgement which caused her to be captured and put to death, sad and not quite 20 years old when she died!
Yes, I have many times. I wrote a paper about her on 5th grade.
I learned about her in my English class, in the 8th grade.

Yes she is a fairly prominent historical figure, well respected by everyone. She also appears to have understood the power of massed or properly placed cannons (emerging as a useful military weapon). She was very good on the offence but was let down by not understanding defence or having anyone tell her when to defend and when to attack. That is the main reason she was captured at Compiégne. She tried to attack a much larger French (Burgundian) force. The number of English (les goddams) active towards the end had greatly reduced around 3-4k killed and not really replaced. The numbers of Scottish soldiers had also increased. At the time England was heading towards its War of the Roses and there was no real royal power, it was rule by barons.
How can we not know of Joan of Arc? The part of the story I find interesting is the Burgundians were allied with England. I need to learn more about that history. Burgundy seems to migrated from South of France to North of France. Maybe I have looked at crap sources.
not much but sounds like a great video or book to read.
