What do Americans think about immigrants? Are they actually careless or do they have hatred deep inside?

I am planning to emmigrate USA thats why i am curious about the the behavior i will encounter

So long as people follow immigration laws and try to integrate into society in a positive way were they contribute to our development and follow the rule of law I have no issue with immigrants. If you've ever read the speech that was given at the dedication of the Statue of Liberty you would understand the general American sentiment on immigrants. I'll give you a short quote that drives the point home:

"The rays from this beacon, lighting this gateway to the continent, will welcome the poor and the persecuted with the hope and promise of homes and citizenship. It will teach them that there is room and brotherhood for all who will support our institutions and aid in our development; but that those who come to disturb our peace and dethrone our laws are aliens and enemies forever"

Democrats don't seem to understand the conditions attached to immigration... They understand this part:

"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free"

but they they refuse to acknowledge that the premise was always that immigrants wanting to come to America were expected to integrate into our culture, contribute to our growth and development, and to abide by our laws.

You have to understand many laws in America are based on on Judeo-Christian morality, and most Americans are Christians. Thus when to come to America you fall under that umbrella of belief. Americans have freedom of religion, but there is a strong bias toward Christianity. So if you are a zealot in some other religion outside of Judeo-Christian morality, a number of your religion's practices may be illegal.

There are a lot of immigrants in the USA. The three states with the most immigrants are California, Texas, and Florida.

Americans don’t hate immigrants. A lot of American families immigrated here. My ancestors arrived in the late 1600s and early 1700s.

It’s the illegal immigration that bothers many people. However, even for those who may be here illegally, if they’re hardworking, honest, law abiding folks — there should be a viable path to legal immigration and citizenship.

I'm UK not U. S.. but there is a general distrust of immigrants here. But that can be overcome on a case by case basis if the person is open, friendly and willing to become part of our society. That means treating us respectfully and not acting weird. I'm sorry but.. Turkish guys here are really creepy to women. Groping and not respecting boundaries. That's what I've seen and experienced. And I'm certain not all Turkish men are like this (probably but I've been to Turkey too and not seen signs of better behaviour). So it is hard for a immigrant to come to another country that has had bad experiences (from other cultures too. Especially Eastern over European)... but not impossible that you will make friends and be accepted. Just be respectful!!

Just out of interest does Turkey have preconceptions of Americans or British coming to work and stay? It's OK if we thought of as loud, crude, arrogant etc.

Most people here see the West as an enemy and are rude, prejudiced, angry and ignorant. That's why I want to emigrate anyway.

Yes I can see that. Our culture certainly contains those traits and I guess all do really because all cultures contain bad people lol.
How come you want to emigrate if you believe that? Or have you seen or heard enough to overcome those prejudices and want to see for yourself?

I do not think wester people are bad. I think west is most liveable continent in the world. I have been trying to be an open-minded person always. And this characteristic of mine has always led me towards search and reasoning. I am a big fan of west and its values therefore i am using this app just to talk with you guys:) because people of my country are simply unbearable. I love western culture. And i am a christian which is a life threading position in Turkey.

Awww well yes we are mostly accepting and open minded (which kinda contradicts what I say above lol) but it really is more on a case by case basis. I think you are very courageous to try! I am not sure I'd ever be brave enough to emigrate to a country that didn't speak my language!

It's the illegal ones that cross the borders when they're still young, take advantage of assistant programs and rely on either translators or their American children after living in the USA for 10-20 years, can't even tell their address in basic English at least.

The legal ones that actually assimilate and are on their good behavior are welcome. I like legal immigrants of all countries.

Speaking as a child of legal immigrants, Americans love using them for shitty jobs.
And even the ones who aren't necessarily bothered by their presence, will never accept them into their circles and never consider them "Americans".
There's a reason we have Chinatowns and immigrants mainly hang out with other immigrants.
Most Americans don't mind legal immigrants living here, but they want them segregated and don't want friendships with them.

If you are coming here as a legal immigrant you will find Americans to be very welcoming and that there are opportunities for individuals that want to work hard and become part of the greatest nation on Earth.

I don't think the average American knows much about Turkey, and would be curious about your culture but not judgmental. Depending on what you look like, they might think you are from a totally different country
