Is it normal for my employees to be angry that my golf buddy who doesn't work there is helping me out at work as a volunteer mgr?

I own my company. I inherited it. My friend Ted doesn't work there perse. I have him there for emotional support. My employees do not like him neither does my cousin who co owns it with me.

Three of my employees complained about his homophobic and racist jokes. Two others complained about his dog growling at people making a mess on the carpet. The cleaning lady quit because he repeatedly relieved himself on the carpet. It's her job to clean up messes so what's the problem?

He is autistic so they need to be more understanding. He has started writing people up. i hadn't noticed.

This weekend he sent an email to everyone telling them they have one day to fill out a survey on why they have a job. Or they are fired.

Three people didn't show up because they thought they were fired.

The one lady Deb was devastated. Monday was her last day because she was retiring. Forty minutes before her shift ended she was celebrating her retirement at lunch and he fired her. She did not fill out the survey because it was a weekend. He said we could save a lot of money. Not paying her retirement. and it was totally legal.

Apparently her husband called me swearing and said the will be suing. Another guy was suing because he was not allowed to collect anything of his things after being told he had been terminated and was dragged out of the building.

Former employee is suing because yesterday my friend was acting mgr. I needed to golf. So I took a mental health day. I wasn't there. He smashed and threw all of the former employees belongings in the dumpster including his personal laptop. The ex employee took pictures and recorded it. My friend tried to grab his cellphone but he sped off.

I'd be pissed as hell about that too. Especially since someone more qualified should have gotten that position for pay. This is nepotism at its finest. He's definitely not just there for emotional support.
The racist and homophobic jokes, the other employees should just grow a pare, but the other stuff is completely out of line. He's a volunteer on a fucking power trip! And stuff like this is exactly why I have little respect for business owners.

I have never heard of anybody doing what you just did. I am sure that you will lose the lawsuit from the woman that was retiring and rightly so. Your employees do not report to your friend. If you need emotional support you should get a dog.
