Is blaming Harris's loss on misogyny and racism a cop-out?

Thought this take on Harris's loss was pretty accurate.

"I’m sorry but misogyny is a cop-out answer here. Kamala made a lot of mistakes during her campaign, and the Democratic Party really needs to start taking accountability if they ever want to win again.

First biggest issue: not having a proper democratic primary. Kamala was wildly unpopular in the 2020 primary, to select her as Biden’s VP wasn’t the best idea, and then certainly wasn’t the best candidate to represent the Democratic Party in this election.

Double-downing on Biden’s presidency, which people are already upset about, was a mistake. It made people think she wasn’t going to fix anything.

Not taking a firm stance on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza alienated a lot of voters who are pro-Palestine.

Operating her entire campaign on “I’m not Trump and he will destroy us” instead of running her campaign on hope for the future was a mistake.

Not focusing her campaign on economic policy when millions of Americans are struggling financially was a mistake.

Then a clown like Trump swoops in and starts saying things like “I will make life better for you. I will make America great again” and then suddenly that starts to sound more appealing. Focusing on attacking the other side instead of making your side sound better just doesn’t work. You have to inspire people to vote for you, not tell them why you shouldn’t vote for the other side.

Obama was excellent at inspiring voters to vote for him. He gave them hope of a better future. Kamala should’ve taken notes."

No racism and misogyny is not a cop out. A large part of the US voting population is racist and unable to think about a woman being president. It was a contributing factor.

But was it the only factor? No! She had 100 days to organize and run a campaign. Biden stayed too long. He should have bowed out at least a year earlier and proclaimed himself a one term president.

Also, Democrats are still playing the game like it's the 1980's and they aren't opposed by a White Christian fascist cult of extremists. Harris and Biden never took the gloves off in a knife fight. THeir messaging was weak and they banked on being the "friendly happier" alternative to the hate and bile of the Republican MAGA campaign. A lot more gutting of tRump and the Heritage Foundation would have been helpful.

But mostly, Democrats haven't figured out that this economy isn't working for 90% of the population and their competition, Republicans, are working hard to make it worse while Democrats suck at communicating this to the morons who keep voting to enslave themselves.

It’s absolutely a cop out and her sex as well as her race have nothing to do with why she lost. It’s because she’s just genuinely not a likable or competent human being. It is sexist and racist though to vote for someone solely based off their sex as well as race not because of merit.

As imperfect as Donald Trump may be and I certainly don’t agree with everything he says and does. I think people want a real leader not another place holder or puppet the way that Biden was. Somehow Harris was WORSE then Biden. A WORSE lair, a WORSE brain, and even more disingenuous.

She wasn't a very inspiring candidate. Her entire candidacy had a huge asterisk because she wasn't elected as the DEM candidate via the primary system (but, of course, she couldn't). I never really cared for her but she did grow on me and I respected her and I did vote for her.

But the bottom line for her was "I'm not Trump!" and, given how people were feeling, that was not good enough.
