HOW DEI HARMS BLACKS: A brilliant black person got an exclusive scholarship solely on merit. He graduated high school with a 4.0 grade point average and his SAT score was on par or exceeded the grades and SAT scores of whites and Asians that also got the scholarship. However due to DEI and because he is black, people assume he was less qualified than whites and Asians; that his scholarship was not based on merit but on DEI.

no, don't think that exists for anyone. There is great opportunity for most if not all, if you are a go getter and hard worker and a good person, you got a very good shot! Do I need to point out where I've seen unfairness and discrimination?

One of the worst places of all worst places is in areas of heavy Chinese. They hire other chinese and Asians. Jews hire jews.. only! What is the issue here... you know the answer.

That said, I've seen people be successful. I think if a black person or even a white person is in a chinese dominated town, they not get much luck. When in white controlled areas, they get a lot more consideration. There are still biases. I've seen very black areas but cannot speak to that... are white people and chinese applying for jobs there but can't get in? Definitely not fair applying at NAACP if chinese... doubt get job.

In general, people try to be fair and reasonable and that generally works.

That answer, may not apply everywhere in usa.

In the US we have equal opportunity. What we also have is decades of coordinated propaganda to convince black people they are perpetual victims.

It's a little more complicated then that. There are certain jobs that favor certain groups, but at the same time, there's certain jobs that certain people are just better at or sort of have to themselves.

One of my teachers said him and his friend (both White), applied to a cannery when they were students to make some extra money. He said they walked in and left when they saw it was all Mexicans. Not because they hate Mexicans, but because they felt they wouldn't fit in. But imagine if the scenario was reversed.

Justice and employment are two very different things.

Are you asking about our criminal courts? No minorities do not get equal justice in our courts. Especially in our Red States that run "for profit" prison systems.

Are you asking about job discrimination? No, there is still not equal opportunity in our economic system because people bring their racism to work. That just got a LOT worse under our new fake president.

A job is an accomplishment based on merit not entitlement. "Justice" is a flat playing field. Discrimination, like DIE does not flatten it. Our system had smoothed out before Obama was elected. Trump will rebuild it.

More or less. In certain occupations minorities have an explicit advantage. In others not so much. As a general rule though I believe pretty much everyone in current year has an equal shot at their American dream.

@DrPepper12 I don't know about that. Yes home ownership is lower, but we move more and take on more debt for worse reasons. We have more stuff than our parents did as well. For example, the internet, indoor plumbing-ish my parents generation was when it started getting popular. We have AC etc. I think our lives are better than our grandparent's generation for sure. Our parents is somewhat convoluted.

When an opening occurs like the manager of a bank, anyone is able to apply and has the opportunity to interview. If race is the reason a better candidate doesn’t get hired then the company may be sued so they never take the risk.
