So, if they stop the war, the sanctions will eventually be revoked. Not only will they gain extra land from Ukraine, but they will also face no real consequences in the end. It's astounding one can start the war and then just go on like nothing has ever happened. It's certainly not a good outlook for the future.

That's power. If they don't like the terms, they keep grinding it up and it doesn't cost them anything they care about. It's frustrating, not fair or right. but if want to save other people, kinda the choice.

That's how that works. They took over Crimea and parts of Georgia and were still being treated normal until this war. With the lands they tookover in Ukraine, people will probably just lift the sanctions and consider them "disputed areas" and go about business as usual. And Russia isn't the only one doing this

The ceasefire doesn't really end things. Ukraine isn't going to accept losing so much territory. If Russia even stops for 30 days, it just resumes when they cannot agree on anything. Sanctions on Russia continue and Europe spends the 30 days helping Ukraine hopefully.
