Why do almost no “pro-choice” advocates actually explain why they believe the baby is just a clump of cells?

Surely, that should be their main focus, considering pro-life advocates oppose abortion because they believe it is murder. Yet, instead of addressing this directly, pro-choice supporters often just repeat the phrase, “My body, my choice.” At least pro-life advocates attempt to explain why they believe abortion is murder.

It depends on the age of the fetus. It is not inaccurate to call an embryo a clump of cells in the first few weeks.

Up to a certain point, a fetus cannot be described as being alive. It merely has the potential to develop into a living person.

Science conclusively establishes that a human fetus does not have the capacity to experience pain until after at least 24–25 weeks. Every major medical organization that has examined this issue and peer-reviewed studies on the matter have consistently reached the conclusion that abortion before this point does not result in the perception of pain in a fetus.

Rigorous scientific studies have found that the connections necessary to transmit signals from peripheral sensory nerves to the brain, as well as the brain structures necessary to process those signals, do not develop until at or after 24 weeks of gestation. Because it lacks these connections and structures, a fetus or embryo does not have the physiological capacity to perceive pain until at least this gestational age.

I can't imagine an ethical problem with chemical abortion that can be performed up to 8 weeks after pregnancy, or even medical abortion up to the end of the first trimester.
You can't murder something that is not alive.

We do, but no one listens. An embryo is not a baby. A fetus is not a baby. A baby is the result of a live birth. We ascribe personhood to a conscious brain, not mere human genetics.

What do you mean explain why? It's a clump of cells. You can literally see this in photos. What more of an explanation do you need? Do those cells eventually become a viable fetus and then baby? Sometimes, but sometimes not.

Abortion is a necessary procedure whether it be voluntary to end a pregnancy early or to save the life of the mother when something goes wrong.

Denying people that choice doesn't make you righteous. It makes you a nosey prick who tries to dictate to others how they should live their lives.

I said the same thing on another post but I’ll say it again. It doesn’t matter what it is, if a woman is obligated to carry it for 9 months and risk her life delivering it then she needs a say. There really shouldn’t even be a debate about this.
