So after seeing this morning's headlines I have to ask? Is tRump truly the dumbest imbecile on Earth or is the Project 2025 playbook he is being led to follow designed to destroy the US economy for Vladimir Putin. Because that's what's happening.

tRump has announced new 200% tariffs on European wine and spirits like Scotch. Why? The US wine industry is doing just fine. European wine producers are not dumping product in the USA to destroy US producers. And the US spirits industry is enjoying a renaissance right now. There are literally hundreds of large and small Bourbon and whiskey brands in the US. The UK is certainly not dumping Scotch at bargain prices.

So why this latest slap in the face to trading partners. What happens to bars and restaurants when half the supply is removed overnight and domestic producers can't replace it? Prices go up, that's what. A glass of wine that used to cost $15 will be $45. Same with Gin, Vodka, Scotch, etc. Well who cares right? People shouldn't drink anyway. I'll tell you who cares. The bars and restaurants who get half their revenue from the sale of booze. The bartenders and waitstaff and kitchen staff who work in those places who will lose their jobs. Thi is another moronic move by our orange Criminal In Chief.

And right on the heels of shutting down America's bars and restaurants is the news that our orange Criminal In Chief just shook down a Taiwanese corporation for $100 Billion in a classic protection racket scheme. Great, now we're getting foreign policy from the mob!

At this point there's no use in having trade deals with the US. You can't trust the US anymore as a trading partner. While the Canada, Mexico, Australia, Asia and the EU are all signing new trade deals with lower tariffs, Trump keeps keeps playing this tariff game and every former trading partner seems more and more willing to shut the US out. The rest of the world is aligning against the US in the global marketplace.

All Europe has to do is remove the 50% tariff on US whiskey and the 200% tariff doesn't go into effect. Doesn't seem like you're concerned about tariffs on US goods, and are fine with the US getting screwed in trade deals. That's very anti-American for you.

Yes, if you want American military protection, you have to pay for it. I can't find one reason why my tax dollars should go to defend a foreign country.

Do you think furniture making will return to North Carolina? All those companies that are still open have converted their factories to warehouses and opened manufacturing plants overseas. A high school drop-off with no experience makes $10/hr in NC, but a college grad master craftsman makes $10/day in Indonesia. You could start manufacturing brake pads in California by someone making $20/hr or have 2 mechanical engineers with university degrees make your brake pads for a combined $20/hr overseas. The US won't be competitive making anything until Americans are willing to work for a dollar an hour.

No but tRump is the one who said he was going to fix egg prices and grocery prices in general "On Day 1". Of course that's impossible since it takes an egg laying hen about 5 months to reach maturity and start laying eggs.
