With all these deep freezes and snowstorms we have endured this winter, how can anyone believe that the world is warming up and getting toasty?

With all these deep freezes and snowstorms we have endured this winter, how can anyone believe that the world is warming up and getting toasty?

Global warming is just an idea of a massive long term issue that could potentially be a really big issue one day but not in the near future. The reason it is suck a big deal is because it is an environmental problem brought up by governments around the world where the blame and cause for it is being put on the public’s fault. This is all for economic and political gain. For example, the U. S. government says we are the problem, if you live in California and your vehicle doesn’t have every one of many emission systems the you get a very expensive ticket and in some cases your vehicle gets impounded etc. So they force you have these emission reduction systems on every vehicle right. So now the price it is taking car mfg to build these vehicle goes up because they are having to add these expensive systems that actually are all proven to effect the overall performance, health, dirability, and safety of vehicles. So most people decide to invest in a new vehicle the closer it gets to 300k miles right. That’s because for so long everyone has always been told and taught that the average engine in every car is expected to have a lifespan of around 300k miles before you need to replace the engine or get a new vehicle. Well back in the 80s before there was any laws and requirements for having emissions systems or anything like that the average engine was expectancy was around 300k. And since there was no requirements for all of this extra stuff, vehicle mfg could make vehicles for a lot cheaper. So her is an example, in 1985 the MSRP for a 1985 Chevrolet half ton single cab base model pickup truck was $8,116. So you could but a brand new vehicle off of the showroom door for 8k and you expect that vehicle to get you around where you need to go reliably for around 300k miles. On avg a person travels around 12k miles a year. So $8k you could get a good reliable vehicle that you expect to last you the next 25 years give or take. Now days because of all of the current laws and requirements for emission systems that purposely damage the engine and effect the longevity of the engines, the average life expectancy of a CONSUMER PASSENGER AUTOMOBILE produced from 2020- current is 169,797 miles. Which at the same rate of 12k miles a year will last you just a little over 10 years give or take. Which for the average working class person it they will probably take anywhere from 4-6 years to finish paying for it which with interest could possibly almost double the total cost of the vehicle. Just as soon as you get it payed off you might get another 3 or 4 years out of it and then you have to start right over again. The reason I capitalized consumer passenger vehicle up above is because in until 2022 there were absolutely 0 emission laws set for semi trucks and 12 wheelers and other large freight vehicles. Even the laws that are in place currently are very very vague and lenient as compared to regular cars. And the average life expectancy of an 18 wheeler built before 2022 (which most were produced without and emission systems on them at all) is just right under 1 million miles at 927,000 miles. This is because the freight industry directly effect the economy, so the government wants it to be economically positive so it can benefit the economy and so they can make more money. So the biggest way to did is make the most important part, the trucks themselves, as efficient and as durable and as cheap to continually maintain. Meanwhile since the amount of money that you pay each year in taxes doesn’t make them as much as they save in the shipping industry, you now not only have to buy more of something that is forcefully being made to not work as long just so ultimately you are forced to pay more on taxes when having to purchase something expensive like a vehicle every 6- 10 years and then the taxes that come with financing it over a period of time and everything. They are doing to the automotive indistry the exact same thing they did to the light bulb. The lightbulb was perfected roughly 150 years ago with the oldest light bulb in the world that has continuously been on 24/7 for 124 years now ever since 1901. But all of these company’s that were making light bulbs back in the day realized that if they had made a bulb that lasted so long then everyone would only have to buy one bulb in their lifetime and it would only cost them a little under 100$. Even tho they cost a lot back the. That isn’t much for a bulb that you could turn on and never turn off and your kids wouldn’t even life long enough to watch it burn out. So they decided to start decreasing the effectiveness and durability of them so they could sell more and make more.
And the government blame cars and trucks for being the reason the ozone is dissipating but they build facility’s like the HARP antenna which literally direct focused high frequency energy into the atmosphere which is enough to effect natural elements on earth. Such as it controls and effect weather conditions, it changes the times and the activity of the northern lights.
A lot of words to say I don't know anything about metallurgy and national capitalist ideology.
All these "improvements" on economical efficiency and emission reduction are because it was found the additives in fuels burnt by large capacity, overly heavy, inefficient gas guzzlers were having an effect on PEOPLE, children especially in areas where the fumes were laden with LEAD and carbon monoxide as well as other unpleasant gases that actually, measurable were found to be absorbed by children's developing BODIES. YES the shit coming out the exhaust of cars was being breathed in by KIDS and their health was being diminished so people could ponce around in ridiculously loud, clunky, 150 year old technology that just turned fuel into fumes UNNECESSARILY. Fortunately the countries who realised this took it upon themselves to do something about it and cut the inefficient motors, added devices that converted some of the toxic fumes into less toxic ones and the need to have your engine running when stationary was solved with auto start stop features on quality cars. So your "need" for a V8 4.5litre 3 seater van that turned 1 gallon of fuel into 15 miles journey could be better tasked with a 1.5 litre fuel injected van that returned closer to 40 miles and was quieter as well as more reliable. SO those 300k (5k service intervals and constant need for replacement as they wore out) 200 year old tech ICE relics that needed constant upkeep and regular maintenance were replaced by better "foreign" higher efficiency and longer lifespan replacements.
Ozone has fuk all to do with global warning and the obvious ignorance the rest of what you're saying is depressingly common among the right wing
Woah now calm down there little guy. You know this is an app that asks for OPINIONS on topics that are designed to create DISCUSSION and DEBATES. This isn’t a fucking daycare complaint box. The post asked a question, asked for an opinion, gave it. Not once in my post did I talk shit or anything so grow the fuck up and go waste your time trying to assert your opinion somewhere where it might have a small chance at meaning anything at all. Because coming to the big boy table trying to start some childish ass shit talking like that only makes you look like a dumbass. And the best part was when you tried to throw political parties in at the end. lol that was comedic gold I’ll give you that one there. Once you said it it all came together and it all made sense. But dont even bother replying once you’re fuming mad after reading this. Lol just grab your sippy cup and hop on off somewhere else.
When ignorance is used and promoted it should be shot down BY GROWN ups.
The only political thing you posted was the right wing hog wash that's wrong. It's fine to have an opinion but accept when it's wrong and change it instead of soaking up the drivel from the liars and regurgitating it as if it's facts.
Be wrong, discover, then improve.
Yes. Its an observable fact. Even the snow storms are a symptom of global warming. Global warming means that the climate is going to change, not always for the warmer but it might be drier, wetter, even colder in certain regions.
For example we have the polar vortex.

The polar vortex is basically a weather containment system that keeps cold and warm air separated and pushed up north and south towards the polar regions. What powers these two vortexes is the difference in temperature between the warm side and cold side. The bigger the difference, the more strongly the cold air is kept away.
However, during global warming the polar regions warms up faster than most other regions which means the temperature difference decreases. As such the polar vortex will weaken and allow cold winds to reach down and for example cover USA from time to time.
Basically, the weather is more complicated than you make it out to be and this is exactly what we would expect during global warming and part of why that is BAD because it costs us money and lives during natural disasters.
@you_asked Yeah, I must be an idiot for making an effort to educate myself.
@Red_Arrow you obviously are not a Christian or you'd no nothing will happen unless God allows it to happen. He created the heavens and the earth and can fix it all in the blink of an eye if he wants to.
@Red_Arrow It is just part of prophesy where the sea and lakes will turn into blood, which is, in my opinion, just referring to a red tide that occurs in warm water and is unsafe to drink. That is why there will be no fresh water to drink and people will curse God because of the great heat. Not good when the world is turned into a hot box.

Of course.
Global warming must occur. The physics of it - basically, the Greenhouse Effect - are incontrovertible. Think of it like this: You put on a sweatshirt. Are you going to get colder? Nope. Summer or winter, you'll be warmer wearing the sweatshirt than if you don't wear it. That's what's going on: "Greenhouse gases", which are gases whose molecule has at least 3 atoms (and this includes carbon dioxide, CO2), that are continuously being added to the atmosphere are, collectively, the sweatshirt that Earth has put on.
In fact, the Greenhouse Effect was first predicted in 1896 - that's 1896, not 1996 - by Nobel Prize-winning physical chemist Svante Arrhenius.

in the Air upon the Temperature of
the Ground

If you don't think the Greenhouse Effect is real, take a look at Venus. That planet is unbelievably hot because of all the carbon dioxide in its atmosphere.
Let's look at the numbers of the 3 innermost planets:
https://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/planetary/factsheet/
Distance from Sun in millions of km:
Mercury: 57.9
Venus: 108.2
Earth: 149.6
Intuitively, Mercury should be hotter than Venus and Earth should be cooler than both because of their distances from the Sun. But, that's not so with Venus.
Mean Temperature in degrees Celsius (in Kelvin):
Mercury: 167 (440.15)
Venus: 464 (737.15)
Earth: 15 (288.15)
So, even though Venus is 108.2/59.9 = 1.8 times as far as Mercury from the Sun, the mean temperature of Venus is 737.15/440.15 = 1.67 times hotter.
So how is it that Venus is hotter than hell?
The Greenhouse Effect due to CO2 dominating Venus's atmosphere.
And that's what's happening on Earth... We are putting more and more CO2 into the atmosphere and that is surely raising the average temperature of Earth.
The hottest year on record for multiple years was in the 1990s, now our hottest years on record have been every year in succession. 2022, 2023, 2024, and now 2025 is projected to beat those records too.
We know from data that Co2 in the atmosphere increased from the start of the Industrial Revolution because human beings were responsible for pumping ‘greenhouse gases’ into the air allowing for sunlight to be captured which heats up the planet Earth. Though it didn’t heat up the planet right away, as our population boomed & civilization became industrialized over agriculture we expanded our Co2 output which put harm to the planet Earth.
I want to say for the record, human beings put plastics in the ocean enough to make islands from them due to corporate greed making us use single use waste that never decomposes / breaks down in the wild, the amount of oil spills in the ocean ruining precious ecosystems due to corporate greed, and so much more…. Is it a shock that they would also harm our atmosphere too?
EPA in a dumbfounded move revoked the idea Co2 is harmful to public health when air pollution is high, the rate children are born with birth defects like asthma increases along with carbon monoxide poisoning can kill human beings without sufficient ventilation installed…. It is ludicrous to believe this brainwashed Administration.
*A relative told me asthma, you aren’t born with it. It comes out later through genetics or environmental factors though agrees studies have shown that air pollution high increases the number of children with asthma. Sorry about that, can’t exactly edit my post, you know GaG.
You're a special MAGA aren't you? Climate change has different effects in different places.

The Green New Deal (GND) offers several economic benefits, including job creation, GDP growth, and long-term sustainability.
Job Creation: Estimates suggest that the GND could create or preserve around 1.9 million jobs over a four-year period, particularly in sectors like clean energy, infrastructure, and environmental restoration. GDP Growth: The GND is projected to contribute approximately $1.2 trillion to U. S. GDP during the same period, driven by investments in green infrastructure and technology.
Private Sector Growth: The policy could stimulate private sector activity by generating demand for clean energy technologies, energy-efficient goods, and other sustainable products and services.
Infrastructure Investments Investments in building efficiency and a national smart grid could boost GDP by $147 billion annually and create 1.1 million jobs in the first year.
Long-Term Savings: By mitigating climate change, the GND could reduce future costs associated with environmental disasters and health issues, potentially saving trillions annually.
Economic Stability: The GND aims to integrate environmental sustainability with economic stability, fostering a resilient economy that prioritizes equity and justice.
The payoffs are INFINITE the cost of doing nothing is INCALCULABLE.
That's how the WEF promotes it anyway. It's all about rainbows, environmentalism and prosperity.
In the meantime, devastating commercial farming practices continue, they spray our skies with toxic substances to "modify" the weather, and coerce people into buying SMART electric vehicles and appliances.
In reality, it's about resources being monopolized by the wealthy while controlling the lives of average people.
You do realize that Europe’s green policies are precisely why their economies have been stagnating?
I'll take their stagnation over our capitalist dystopia
I guess crappier wages and the loss of jobs and economic growth all in the name of virtue signalling is fine with you then
Climate change has been happening for millions of years it's nothing new. Ok there may be dome truth to the fact that in recent decades us humans haven't exactly helped the situation by polluting the hell out of everything do yes we should try a bit harder to keep our environment clean but we had a record breaking breaking winter this year and I suppose that's why the environmentalists quit calling it global warming and changed it to climate change. It whole lot of malarkey. An excuse for a carbon tax grab.
Climate change has been happening for millions of years but it generally takes hundreds of thousands of years for things to change notably. The speed of change is more akin to what we would expect during extinction events, which is a problem even if you think this is natural. Furthermore, even if you think this is natural we also do not want global warming as a human civilization either because it raises sea levels AKA eliminating a lot of land such as most of Florida. It also adds more energy into the environment that can result in bigger and more frequent natural disasters.
A warming planet is as such a problem that is costing us trillions of dollars and countless lives. Regardless if humans cause it or not, we should try to stop it just like how we would try stop things like forest fires or asteroid impacts. Just accepting the consequences because its "natural" or whatever is stupid.
I believe that the Earth is alive just like us.
And it knows how to take care a bit. Self. When it is necessary
But then you get men involved Let's strike one
They seed the clouds so will rain or snow or what have you All over the planetl So now you're Tabby's own planned. But the old man has created another plan for the Earth. And though everything is in the uproar and battling each other.
Yes, I believe in global warmi believe.
We have a bunch of evil people in polit All over this world.
I believe if man can destroy this planet he will do it.
It is basically just for greed LO. L. Or manipulation or control. But yes I do and I believe in a lot of other things too
No I don't believe in 'Global Warning" as it is being pushed, the "environmentalists" have pushed so many climate and other threats in my lifetime, they have ALL had one thing in common, a licence for someone to gather a lot of money;

And not just that but scientists are literally being paid to produce studies and write about why climate change is real
planet always changing, sometimes horribly severe. it's happening it appears to some extent. cause... various. human activities related? Probably but which ones?
carbon emissions? Wars... cruise ships, power plants... chemicals?
drilling into the earth causing issues?
etcetc...
I don't know enough to be confident of any action that justifies chewing up the earth to make change. It's wise to diversify, value efficiency over $ in my view.
ride your bicycles like china used to do and we are better off. stop wars, stop making disposable junk... then have to drill into earth less... all be an improvement.
not convinced any of that would make a dent...
Well you can actually see it. You can pretend what you see it does not exist like with everything. They say Antarctica's Ice Is Melting fast and by 2100 India Will Drown By 2 Metre Rise. I know stupid americans probably might think "Well looks like India has a problem, then" without thinking where you think those 1.5 billion people will go. How you house those people how you make sure everyone would have enough food.
@JesseP1nk Well maybe the Dems will be back in power and just invite them all to the US. 😫😝😜
Same thing when I was a kid. Documentary narrated by Leonard Nimoy on how we were just ten years from the tipping point triggering a new Ice Age. Followed by three hottest summers on record at the time.
It's always "within the decade" and we had ice age, ozone layer, acid rain, global warming, climate change and all we ended up with was higher taxes so the "problem" could be fixed.
It is happening in my country use to snow in November till March or even April some time, now it showing just a little in end of January and beginning of February. There are difference even of 30C* now and 20 yares ago!!!
The sea level had incrised that my country need to import sand to extend the beach.
Being cold doesn't detract from the phenomenon of global warming. More heat energy in the atmosphere means a lot of things at the same time happen. More violent and frequent flooding (evidence in Asia Europe and US) , more violent and frequent storms seen everywhere. And more extreme hot and cold which is also seen everywhere.
Bringing snowballs indoors and saying it's not warm in here is just dumb idiocy masquerading as "science ".
Of course and its affects have been documented for decades now. Global warming doesn't mean heat everywhere and constantly, it means a steady rise in the average temperatures and an increasing risk of severe weather phenomenons (including massive snowfall!). As a personal story, in kindergarten and primary school age we had real winters with deep snow every year. Nowadays most winters have no snow at all and the alpine glaciers are getting smaller every year.
@NoDecision sure I believe in the hole in the ozone layer - I really do. It's why I wear more sunscreen now than I ever used to as a kid in the backyard growing up - that sun is strong ☀️🌞 and it's because supposedly of that lack of ozone or the rotation of earth to the hole 🕳️
I've noticed that I sunburn faster at the beach now than before. So the ozone layer loss might be true.
🌞🥵 😎
@NoDecision no sunscreen? 🧴 Yikes? I wear it religiously and I don't do beach - cya :) 🤠 🧢
I guess it is true then, you can burn on cloudy days. 😟
The hole in the Ozone layer has long since repaired itself and was never as bad as it was made out to be and it's been since proven that companies like Dupont that stood to make billions of dollars creating substitute refrigerants that only kill persons rather then the "Environment" that have replaced R-12, R-22 and R-510 which scientists have now proven were no where as dangerous as first portrayed by companies such s Dupont which stood to make billions of dollars on a phase out of these refrigerants. They also make Teflon which is another environment, people and animal killer. Just watch the 2019 film "Dark Waters starring Mark Ruffalo.
@NoDecision darn you're very cute and look like an identical twin of a girl I used to date, I did a double take the first time I saw your profile photo cause I thought it was her.
@NoDecision so you bought some sunscreen today or last night now, right? My girlfriend and I if I had would always love sunscreening up with a smile like service with a smile 😊😁
The fact that England has been sunny and not that cold all winter makes me go yes. But ya know besides that obviously chemicals effect others and we are surrounded by them which all have knock on effects... it's simple logic.
I do because climate is changing and it has always been changing. It´s a global phenomen not just area and the important measure is the temperature on average over the year. What´s rather questionable to me is the amount of impact humans on it.
no. not even those peddling the scam believe it. If they did, they all wouldn't have bought million dollar beachfront mansions just to have them be flooded in 10 years.
That is an interesting point. 🤔
About 56 million years ago there was a time geologists (not pseudo-scientists) refer to as the thermal maximum. There were palm trees and crocodiles above the Arctic circle for fuck's sake. The average temperature on earth was 93 degrees, compared to 60 degrees now. The earth was way hotter and we had an ice age before and after that. So so we know approximately jack shit when it comes to global warming.
On the news long ago they talkd about global warming. They said Park City, Utah was gettin less snow.
I no Salt Lake City, Utah had lots of snow in the 1980s, 90s, in the 21st century. But less aftr the 1980s. Very recently it hasn't got very much.
So mayb global warming impacted some areas. Did the area you're talkin about get a reduction in snow?
It is not just winters getting colder. Summers in Europe have become more and more searing.
Global warning is most likely a manipulation project aimed at population control in the next few decades. Everything possibly connects to HAARP.
Yes. Because it’s fact. Scientists may try in vain to predict how bad it is and are proven wrong. But the facts don’t change. Why are there so many migrants from the equator?
Yes. The question is not if it is happening, the earth is always heating up and cooling down over millions of years. We are in a warming period currently. The question is how much are we accelerating it.
Check this out, the ultimate result of global warming is another ice-age.
It’s climate change, and it’s a lot more complicated than “global warming”. And it’s not all due to human behavior!
The only people that push this are the ones getting rich from it.
There is no question Earth is warming. The only question is why. I don't buy the idea that humans are causing it since Earth has been cycling between hot and cold cycles since the beginning of time. The last ice age ended less than 12k years ago and the climate has been warming ever since. There were wooly mammoths right where I live in N America less than 10k years ago. Humans have lived here about 25k years. That shit is going to happen regardless of what we do or don't do.
Yes, I believe, because there was no snow in last decade or so.
When I was a kid, there was lots of snow.
What do you think half the US just suffered with snowstorms and lost power all over the US? Roofs were collapsing because of all the snow piled on top and accidents took over the highways like a Destruction Derby Event. 🤔
I don't live in the US, I guess it's some sort of cyclone, pushing snowstorms from Alaska, Canada or Greenland, to the south.
So, this is revenge for Trump placing Tariffs on Canada? 🤔😅😃
LoL, it's possible 🤣
Leftists lie about everything in pursuit of their totalitarian agenda.
Well it’s been climate change for some time now…. Before warming it was global cooling. Drinking plant water and not milk saves the planet though and eating crickets.
As for our planet it’s constantly heating & cooling itself & as for global warming I think it’s a get rich scheme & a lot of people make money off of it.
I have never believed in "man caused climate change". We go through natural cycles of warming and cooling. THERE IS NOTHING TO BE DONE... because mankind is NOT CAUSING IT
I don't want to insult ever idiot I chance upon but these global warming deniers are hard to abide, man
I really do not care either way.
I know people have no control over it and that the end of the earth has a set time.
Fools worry about stuff like this.
Climate change us real, a mostly natural phenomenon that has been going on for millennia. Some areas get warmer and some get colder. The term global warming is inaccurate.
If crap were to be cut out, I'd have no reason to believe in it :)
global warming is a geopolitical plot to usher in a global totalitarian dictatorship, all these climate change activists have the hallmarks of totalitarianism
OF COURSE I do.(The question should be "Does anyone not a Trump groupie or a blithering idiot [the two are often synonomous!!!] NOT believe in climate change?")
@beefcakebradybatsonThe opposite can be said too about Biden groupies. Except Biden didn't even understand what climate was. He thought it meant "climax" and climate was what he said when he won in chess, which he never did. 🙄
@Red_Arrow You don't do jocularity well, do you? You may have to Google that. 🙄
@Red_Arrow Logic is not always at the top of my thoughts. If I wanted fact I would watch the news. I want humor and fun. Unfortunately, G@G does not have that category. This site is dull without it. So I interject it where I can.
At least Biden didn't turn America into a feckless broligarchy whose government is up for highest bidder.
@beefcakebradybatson Sp true!
Yes, because the weather is temporary, but the overall climate of the world has gotten hotter.
Isn’t the scientific consesus still only that its warmed by a degree or so over the past 200 years?
@WhiteBoyChill I don't know google it
I did and that’s what I saw
@KittygosMeoWW Only in politics.
I don't know if they believe in it but I know that no one cares about it.
Are they back to calling it global warming now?
Only the morons among us don't understand global warming.
They for sure do, I also think its generally gotten a bit warmer but thats just earth phases.
Check out geoengineeringwatch. org you will be shocked to see wtf they are doing
no they don't otherwise they wouldn't be vandalizing Elon Musk's electric vehicles and selling them for motor vehicles instead
I believe in it, but I think it is actually having a lot of good effects that are being glossed over.
It is getting slightly warmer, but I don't believe that man's contributions are a significant factor
The climate changes. Humans have little impact on this phenomenon.
If its not real you can just disprove it on a molecular level and get a nice Nobel.
I believe it’s natural and not a fucking thing can be done
No
Hell no
WTF no
It’s a democrat scheme to pocket millions of dollars.
It doesn't exist!!
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
It is a religion for many adherents.
Anyone with half a brain does.
I do and it's definitely happening
