Because it is stupid, made up and harming both men and women.

Are you perhaps upset about not having a wife and family? Are you perhaps upset about you job and the bad wage? Are you perhaps worried about the bad mental health among men today? Well guess what? Masculinity has a very big part in contributing to all these problems. And for what? So that we can claim the color blue? Pathetic.

      What is masculinity?

@CrisboOx The social expectations and stereotypes that people associate with men.

Relevant for what I listed above we have how the social stereotype of men is that they are supposed to ask women out, and also be the ones to attract them. In other words, it puts the onus of starting a family entirely in the lap of men. If you do not have a family, then it is by extension your fault and nobody else.

Likewise the social stereotype of men is that they are supposed to be the breadwinners in a household. They need to be successful and earn money enough for a family by themselves rather than get help from their spouse as an example.

As for bad mental heath, it is seen as unmanly for men to for example cry in public or to speak about their emotional vulnerabilities. That means that manly men are supposed to internalize all their mental health issues and depression which makes them into socially stunted individuals that simply build up more and more problems until they find some unhealthy way to release them all such as beating their wives or whatever.

These are just a few examples mind you. I could go on for days.

But what is it about the examples you’ve mentioned that the left despises? Is it that they don't want to be the primary providers, or that they want to cry in public?

@CrisboOx Well, putting aside that they are all arbitrary and stupid, the effects these things has on men is devastating. MGTOW for example is a movement about men being disillusioned with dating women which from a masculinity point of view is due to them failing to be masculine and secure a wife and family. If you can't get a girlfriend then you are simply not man enough, end of story.. or at least that is from the viewpoint of masculinity.

What makes it perhaps even worse is that we ascribe masculinity onto physical aspects that you have no power over as well. Your height for example, or your penis size. If you happen to be short and is not in the 5 or so percent of men with a dick at 6 inches or longer then you are seen as objectively inferior as a masculine man at no fault of your own. May as well stick a fork in the wall and hope you roll a better character for your next life.

And once again, masculinity does not naturally exist, it is something that we ourselves have invented and all it does is hurt a large part of our society for no good reason.

@Syntosi It seems that our views on masculinity differ greatly, probably because we come from two different regions of the world. It explains why I find what you mentioned quite strange.

@CrisboOx I do not define masculinity in this regard, I am speaking of it in terms of what the usual proponents of masculinity in USA believes. It does not really matter how you define masculinity though, I can almost guarantee that there will be more harm than good from it.

@beefcakebradybatson, labeling anyone you disagree with as a ‘thugocracy’ just adds to polarization. Real dialogue starts by understanding and discussing actual issues, not by throwing around inflammatory terms.

@SolitarySolace I call Trump's corrupt, swinish cabal "thugs" because of their behaviour. We black men are labelled "thugs" because we're black men.

@beefcakebradybatson, Ah, so ‘thug’ is offensive when used unfairly against black men, but totally fine when applied to people you dislike politically? Interesting double standard.

But if we’re talking about systemic racism against black men, let’s look at recent Democratic policies:
      • Biden’s 1994 Crime Bill – Led to the mass incarceration of black men, disproportionately devastating black communities. Even Biden himself admitted it was a ‘mistake’—a little late, don’t you think?
      • Kamala Harris’ record as a prosecutor – She withheld evidence that could have exonerated a black man on death row and criminalized truancy laws that disproportionately affected black families.
      • NYC vaccine mandates – Restricted access to restaurants and public spaces for the unvaccinated, which disproportionately affected black Americans, the least vaccinated demographic at the time.
      • Democrat-run cities and education – Decades of policies that keep failing inner-city black communities, pushing policies that trap people in underperforming schools while sending their own kids to private institutions.
      • Border policies prioritizing illegal immigrants over black Americans – Many black leaders have pointed out that mass illegal immigration depresses wages for low-income black workers, yet Democrats champion these policies without addressing the harm done.

If systemic racism against black men is the issue, maybe the conversation should start with holding both parties accountable instead of pretending only one side is guilty. Because last I checked, calling one group ‘thugs’ while giving the other a free pass isn’t fighting racism—it’s just playing politics. 😉 – Eva ❤️

Same reason the right hates equality. When you don't like something, you devalue it, and make it out to be awful.

Also bad idea using Trump as an icon of masculinity. He's just a loud, obese asshole draft dodger. Go for Joe Rogan, at least he's a good man who can absolutely wreck people in a fight

@OneViewpoint, resorting to insults like calling an entire group ‘simping whining bitches’ doesn’t strengthen your argument; it only shows a lack of meaningful points. If you want to discuss masculinity, maybe start by exemplifying maturity instead of hostility.

First, I thought that "the hill" was liberal fake news propaganda?

      Second, the survey was rigged:

"The chart gave the impression, at least on first glance, that two-thirds of 12th-grade boys were now conservative. In the small print beneath, Twenge noted that she had omitted moderates.

The full story is messier and murkier. High school seniors, boys and girls alike, are more likely to claim no political identity than to throw in with either liberals or conservatives.

The political leanings of young men have changed little over the past two decades, according to an analysis by the Survey Center on American Life.

Last year, 43 percent of young men identified as moderate, 31 percent as conservative and 24 percent as liberal. Twenty years earlier, the numbers were more or less the same."

Why do you MAGAs INSIST on embarrassing yourselves in orgies of ignorance & shame?
