The vast majority of people not exclusively left/liberal/progressive or right/Conservative, they usually have a mix of views based on their personal upbringing and/or experiences in life. Centerist political views is probably the majority, neither exclusively left or right.

The left you refer to are the minority left wing extremists, who are similar to the minority right wing extremist in that they use people's fears to paint people with opposing views as evil enemies who will destroy us all. Its effective totally people behind them.

In reality most free thinking educated people know better than to buy into extremist preaching.

I agree if you currently vote Biden/Harris or Trump/Pence they are guilty of association by opposition voters. However In the US you basically only have two options, Republican or Democrat, which these days are both viewed as extreme right or extreme left by opposing voters. This gives extremist views the platform and splits the middle ground.

There is no nationwide Centerist option in the US, middle ground party who has a bit more common sense and a mix of moderate Conservative and Progressive views. Now there is a situation where fear politics has taken over.

There has been a failure to listen to concerns of Conservative Americans who have genuine concerns over immigration, jobs, education and management of the Country. In fact this has happened in Europe too, where Conservative people who raise concerns over immigration etc get automatically labelled racist etc by reckless extreme left who fail to understand the problems.

Probably because they oppose women’s reproductive freedom and oppose affirmative action, which has greatly benefited women in the workplace. The conservative movement typically opposes civil rights in general. It’s why women tend to be Democrats.
