I left a bully bleeding on a locker room floor in high school. Does that count? I was the new kid. He decided to accuse me of "looking at" his girlfriend. I had no idea who his girlfriend was. Wouldn't let it drop. He was supposedly a Karate guy I learned afterward. I was the kid who had dropped into a new school every 6 mo - 3 years my entire life. Military brat. I got really good at fighting. His mistake not finding out who he was dealing with. He tried to throw one punch and experienced a lot of pain, blood everywhere, all fingers on his right hand broken. People left me alone after that. LOL, my parents were used to being called to the school.
So I specifically wanted to know if people knew of bullies doing the stereotypical pulling a nerd up by his white briefs like on TV Shows / Movies since I felt the trope had to come from somewhere & thought it would be interesting to hear other people’s stories of that in their school or rumors. Just wanted information on this funny phenomenon.
OR reason as to why this is such a common trope to see a bully give a wedgie to a nerd or anyone for that matter. A real head scratcher for me.
The wedgie became a standard for TV and Hollywood because it was seen as a harmless high school prank that people could laugh at. Nobody got hurt physically. Never ran into a bully like that. Bullies tended to be a little more dangerous than that in real life where I came from.
@oneviewpoint That makes a lot of sense actually, the fact that the wedgie was played up for dramatic affect for over the top humor makes sense as a totally harmless prank people of all ages could laugh at. Makes sense, thank you for your insightful observations.
There are a lot of pranks showcased in media, though the wedgie I’d say is the most iconic which made me question where the whole trope came from. Again thanks! Also you showed that asshole who’s boss lol.
I simply survived. That example meant I never had to fight again at that school.
I was bullied though I’m glad I didn’t hurt the individual since she ended up being a good person later in life & she came to regret what she did (which was not that bad looking back at it all).
Good for you setting an example and asserting dominance.
Oh he regretted what he did immediately. No waiting 20 years for regret to incubate, LOL The guy was a douchebag. I have no idea what happened to him in his lifetime. I was outta there and on to the next place. As my cousin who's a psych nurse tells me I became Johnny "don't fuck with me" Jones. I just wanted to be left alone. Names changed to protect my anonymity.
Nice cousin to call you “don’t fuck with me” as your middle name, fits beautifully and gets the message across to the others. I’ll take your word the guy was a major douchebag.
RIGHT ON, BOYO !!!
Don't know a single guy who didn't get or give one! Is it a gen x guy thing?
Best was playing two hand touch and giving a massive wedgie to your center!! Too easy!!
I personally never witnessed a wedgie in school and was curious if someone knew a specific case of it. I’m from Gen Z though saw it as commonplace in TV shows & Movies also Books (sometimes).
So what is this ‘two hand touch’?
American football. No tackling just two hand touch
Never witnessed or gave a wedgie during a game of American football two hand touch, though yeah that totally seems like a great way to sneak attack lmao. It sounds better when you are the giver than on the receiving end though.

I mean I got wedgied in HS maybe because I wore tighty whites I don't know? Perhaps media made it a more common practise or maybe it was a common practise and thus media was inspired by those real life events and stories I don't know
Any personal stories from receiving wedgies in Highschool and any other “pranks” / mischief that you witnessed? I find these fascinating since I didn’t witness any of the sort.
There were no wedgies in the 50's,60's and early 70's.
Okay I’m curious did you witness wedgies or bullies giving wedgies or heard rumors / knew someone personally? I am curious about if wedgies were given at all in school since it seems like something that only happens on tv/movies and genuinely curious.
Never heard of wedgies as a lad.
@beefcakebradybatson Okay, thanks for taking the time to answer.
If you’re letting another person give you wedgies then you deserve that shit
@smokinaces2000 You never witnessed a wedgie in school or heard about it from a classmate?
There are a lot of stereotypes when it comes to school life though this ‘wedgie trope’ made me curious if it had weight to it lol.
Actually I did witness some in middle school but it was just friends messing around. I’ve never seen a random person going around giving people wedgies
@smokinaces2000 Friends messing around giving each other wedgies, I personally never witnessed that let alone the bullying thing though there were “rumors” probably made up for attention from fellow students. Hopefully the messing around was outside the view of school faculty since I would think a few would see it out of context and be mad lol.
Please don't tell me that's your kinds, 10 years ago I meet a guy that had this same kinks...
So, I thought about this because when I was looking back on my childhood I realized a lot of children entertainment had bullies that gave wedgies particularly toward boys wearing white briefs so I was curious if anyone actually witnessed bullies pulling a kid by their underwear because I’m genuinely curious if this is a thing that occurs in schools or is just a trope and nothing else. One guy claimed in an old GaG question that he did receive wedgies from a girl in 5th grade so there is some actual merit to this trope.
Not a kink thing, I promise.
