Do U. S. politicians love Russia so much because they're both Oligarchies?

Steve Witkoff a bilionaire property developer with 0 experience in diplomacy (great appointment by the way, really professional) . He's officially in charge of negotiating the peace deal. So what he says is considered the official position of the United States.

He came out and said Ukraine is not even a real country. He could not name the 4 regions of Ukraine where the fighting is taking place.

He said Putin is not a bad guy. The U. S. and Russia should cooperate more closely economically.

The parts of Ukraine that Russia has taken over are Russian anyway. He's also is against any peacekeeping force after the cease fire is signed.

Also he thinks Putin respects Trump lmao. Putin was just on TV with his oligarch buddies and one of them said don't you have a phone call with Trump and Putin wa like "he can wait". Made him wait for more than an hour lmao.

I feel like the U. S. politicians have finally had enough of acting like they need voters approval now they're just gonna run the country like Russia runs their country. Will Trump change the rules go for a third term and win with 90% of the vote? We'll see XD

Regarding Steve Witkoff’s remarks—it’s unsettling that someone with no diplomatic experience is in such a significant position. The comments about Ukraine and Putin don’t just reflect a lack of understanding, they seem dangerously out of touch with the reality on the ground. Ukraine’s sovereignty is not in question, and Putin’s behavior has been anything but respectable. To ignore or downplay that is irresponsible.

As for Trump and a third term—those calling for it are merely trying to stir up unnecessary conflict. The rules are clear: Presidents serve two terms, no more. We’re likely to see a fresh candidate in 2028, and JD Vance is shaping up to be the front-runner, not Trump. We need to keep focusing on what’s best for the country, not get lost in divisive rhetoric that undermines our democratic processes.

The US convinced zelensky to provoke Russia into war and US oligarchs made a killing supporting it. The Ukraine war is unwinnable for Ukraine.

@Syntosi yeah that looks like victory. For Russia it's mission accomplished. It has the Donbass and crimea and Ukraine won't be joining NATO

Ukraine could not join NATO before the war either and Russia already had the Donbas and Crimea before the war. Sounds like Russia mostly went backwards then since the war triggered Sweden and Finland joining NATO and for Germany to re-arm its military. Not to mention Russia lost its energy trade with Europe and found itself under massive sanctions.

@Syntosi in 2008 it was announced that Ukraine and Georgia would be future NATO members. Georgia was invaded by Russia in 2008, Ukraine in 2014. Zelensky was pushing for NATO membership right b4 the Ukraine war started up again. Sweden and Finland were always joining NATO and were part of the Nordic alliance which had nato members Denmark and Sweden, Ukraine was always a bigger concern to Russia because of its location in the south and black sea. Germany is really just rearming to the level it was supposed to be at, it has always been a major weapons producer world wide. Russian energy sales continue, in fact while supporting Ukraine Europe has been funding Russia's war

Ukraine could not join NATO in 2014 because Russia was occupying Crimea and they had 2 civil wars (supported by Russia) raging in Donbas and Zaporizhzhia. You can't join NATO when you have active territorial disputes. Sweden and Finland was explicitly neutral even though they were friendly with NATO and would not have joined without provocation. Germany literally needs to change its constitution to rearm (which it is doing) and this would be terrible news for Russia even if Germany only rearms to "normal" levels. Also the volume of Russias energy exports has crashed, its only the increase in energy prices that has kept it afloat but that will only be temporary. Especially if the war ends then the cost of energy will plummet and Russia will be bankrupt.

@Syntosi Russia took crimea to stop Ukraine from joining Nato in 2014.
Also Germany was armed to the teeth all through the cold war.

Did you read what your diplomat said? This is Trumps official position on the Ukraine conflict. If it wasn't they would've walked back the comments but they didn't.
