Because Russia has been ruled by autocrats since the goddam Mongols.

Yes, even the Soviets were autocrats.

They killed the old autocrats and they became the new autocrats.

Then those Soviet autocrats went away and they traded them in for another—wait for it—an autocrat.

I would argue Russia and the U. S have roughly the same politics, freedom and distribution of wealth.

But I do agree. Hanging would certainly help sometimes.

I very much do. Both countries run on fake democracy. Two party system that allows third candidates but sets up high barriers. One candidate is a phony so the other one can win. Leaders are not held accountable to bssic laws. Pretty much the same.

Freedom? U. S can speak more freely but have less free time and are worse off when it comes to what they can do, travel, so on. Your call which is more free but they both score very low.

Distribution of wealth. Both are run by a very small, less than one in a million amount of people who holds more than half the assets. Arguably the theatre is better in the U. S but there is no real difference. In both this group decides what laws are passed, what projects are invested in, so on. Probably a little less in Russia so they are better off. Land ownership is also not as heavily restricted, yet at least.

So no. Very much mean it. Its not exactly hard to compare a tomato to a tomato.
