Trump is ineligible to serve a third term, per the US Constitution. There was a difference between President Trump exercising his executive authority under article 2 section 1 clause 1 of the Constitution and exercising unauthorized dictatorial control. As a matter of fact, if Donald Trump does not fulfill his obligation under article 2 Section 1 clause 1 of the constitution, he is subject to impeachment for failure to uphold his oath of office. He is obligated to refuse these lawfare district court rulings. When they cluttered the Oval Office too much, he will simply refuse all of them.

While I get why people might be concerned, the facts are clear that Trump isn’t actually trying to serve a third term. The 22nd Amendment limits a president to two terms, and there’s no legal or constitutional path for him to extend that. Sure, he makes jokes about a third term, but those seem more like playing into controversy and keeping the media focused on him than any serious attempt to break the law. His rhetoric might rile up his base, but so far, there’s been no formal push or legal action directly from President Trump. Of course, some of his supporters might push for it, but there’s no indication that Trump himself is actually making moves to change the system.

So at the end of the day, our Republican Confederacy didn't actually care about "States Rights". The Constitution was always toilet paper in their minds. And they hate their own country. They wanted to seize power and hold onto it in some White Nationalist homeland fever dream stuck in 1950.

Now that they believe they have seized power, they suddenly love absolute power in a centralized government under a dictator for life and Capitalist free markets no longer makes the optimal decisions. We need a king to dictate that shit.

So the Republicans / Confederates were just what anyone with a brain thought they were all along. The most corrupt and hate filled people in our society hell bent on seizing power. They have no real ideology outside of power and wealth. It really is as simple as it always appeared.

I personally think Trump is just being sarcastic when he talks about seeking a third term. He knows it’s not possible, but it seems like liberals, Democrats, and leftists are taking it more seriously than it’s meant to be. He doesn't seem to think so. Probably something along the lines of getting elected as House Speaker (doesn't even have to be a Representative), then having the elected president and VP stand down or, if Democrats, murdered.

You'll know, of course, about the proposed constitutional amendment to allow a third term, which stangely doesn't include anyone who already served two terms (i. e. Obama).
