That is exactly what is happening right now. I just watched a video that was a montage featuring every prominent democrat in the past 30 years, from Clinton, Obama, Chuck Shumer, Nancy Peloci, and dozens more talking about using tarriffs to make trade fair. If another nation puts a 50% tarriff of US goods, then the US should do the same to make them stop. Democrats used to all support free and fair trade. Now Trump is doing exactly what the dems all preached about, but because he is Trump, they have to fight this. Trump should announce that he supports breathing air, and make it an executive order. Millions of "woke" cultists would likely try to stop breathing to protest this horrible thing. This is how deranged these socialist-loving morons are.

For years, Tesla was the vehicle of choice for the woke crowd. They were saving the environment by driving an electric car! Then when Elon took a job in the government and started uncovering staggering government waste, the Democrat politicians told their sheep, "Elon is now the bad guy! Stage protests and burn Tesla to the ground! F*** THE ENVIRONMENT !! "... If this keeps up we won't be able to syphon hundreds of billions of dollars a year from government programs like social security!!!" It is simple. for the better part of 50 years Democrats' minds have been locked into Leftism. I don't think Trump is doing the "right thing" he's doing what has to be done which is refinancing the debt bubble he helped inflate during Covid. Now there's a lot of hurt coming for Americans because we've built up a MASSIVE load of debt we'll never pay off and ordinary people are those who suffer most from tariffs and other things.

Like I said there was a downward trend by the end of the previous government which likely would have continued going down.
