—let’s not jump the gun. There’s no hard data yet tying the rollback of DEI programs to an economic crash. Depressions don’t just pop off because some diversity offices got axed; they’re brewed from bigger pots—trade wars, market bubbles, policy misfires. Trump’s tariffs, announced April 2, 2025, are already spooking markets—stocks slid into correction territory by mid-March, per NBC News, and consumer confidence tanked 10.5% this month, says the University of Michigan. That’s the kind of stuff that could snowball, not DEI cuts.
Irony? Maybe if you squint—right-wingers cheered slashing “woke” spending, and now X posts (like @frogs4girls) are half-joking about a “Great DEIpression.” But correlation isn’t causation. The right’s focus on DEI as a boogeyman might’ve distracted from real economic moves—like those tariffs—though plenty of them love that too. Caring about “important stuff”? They’d argue they are; just depends on what you call important. Me, I’d say watch the data, not the culture war noise—recessions don’t care about your politics.
I am not a cuck. (I know you're not.)
@PavlovsCogk Correctomondo
I dont relate them, some people see we cannot continue the debt inflation path, consumer and globalization usa weakens. Changing direction is very difficult.
We may have big dip… he wants rstes to cone down to finance the debt. Its a tough balance act. Frankly noone else would attempt it, thats why trump is right. Problem is once lowr him, there is noone else that can replace w his ability to do the hard things vs what is easy.
i remember as a child seeing this word noone. i didn't know what to do with it? i couldn't understand how to pronounce it any differently than noon without an -e.
@Shiprex am fine taxing them and if trump did an asset tax, I'd laugh or cheer. problem is it won't cover much anything as is. People argued taxes for decades and nothing happens to cover the deficit. I've not looked at the math for it in long time. The other issue is... whom is going to go building these manufacturing bases, installing the robotics and such that is required to make us competitive? it ain't the middle class.
that is the problem which is the wealth is in the hands of a few and how to manage that after we've outsource so many jobs... turning us into a service economy that effectively doesn't work financially without the printing press.
Sadly at the policy maker level... where really is the conversation about this and whom are the best minds? Were fed crap in the media and we all argue rather than find solutions. For most part, the real issues were ignored in prior debates... because it's nearly impossible to deal with probably.
It seems to be a fabricated wealth redistribution that has been going on since the 80s at least. The whole lie about trickle down economics without any kind of societal goal (Norway are kind of part way with their sovereign wealth fund) of reducing the need to work for people instead, break the family unit into two working adults and get them employed in the commercial market so the rich and powerful can redistribute even more upward motion of wealth.
DEI needs to come back. I lost my good paying job after my employer dropped DEI. Now every job I apply for says I'm not qualified for the position.
I'll hire you. Do you have a 4k webcam?

In the past few decades, conservative idiots in america have always been eager to write checks made to cash with the amount left blank for anyone who will give them the impression that they are "better" than liberals.
They couldn't care less about what that person does, as long as it doesn't affect them directly.
How fucking sad and pathetic is one's life when the ultimate goal is to feel that you're better than others and, even worse, when you rely on someone else to provide that feeling for you.
"Hate is a more powerful motivator than love"
— Roger Stone
Are you going to come on here and admit that you were wrong when it turns out there is no "next depression"? Of course not.
Leftists don't understand economics, so it's not surprising that they overdramatize everything, but the broken record just makes me yawn.
DEI, i. e., racial discrimination, is illegal.
@Sachem: Bad strawman. That was campaign rhetoric, but we did experience the highest inflation in four decades under Dementia Joe, which means that administration's policies were indeed awful, which Trump was really saying (not that anyone has any idea who was actually in charge during that administration- it certainly wasn't the dementia patient, though).
Have you been pouting about that since 2020?
@exitseven
Except that many more jobs were created under Biden than under tRump.
@exitseven
Government waste? Start by reducing the Pentagon and military industrial complex.
@Sachem: There’s plenty of waste there too, no doubt about it, including all those DEI programs leftists forced on the military and defense contractors.
Leftists think government jobs are the best since it allows them to target the private sector and their political opponents and help them move closer to a command economy.
@exitseven
They should have started with the Pentagon.
Now let's change the law to ban all war profiteering.
@exitseven doge didn’t find 150 billion. If you bothered to look for facts. I’d guess barely 10k. Plus just firing hard working civil servants.
“Hard-working civil servants”’? Hahaha, if that isn’t leftist propaganda, I don’t know what is.
You can quibble with the $150 billion figure, but the completely unsupported 10k is a pathetic piece of propaganda as well. It’s obvious to everyone that in a huge organization like federal government where there isn’t oversight and it’s largely operated as a slush fund for leftist causes and to promote leftist policy agendas as well as hiring lots of leftist ideologies, that there will be a huge amount of fraud, waste and abuse.
But it’s touching how a Marxist like you is loyal to his fellow Marxists. It makes me wonder if you aren’t yourself benefiting financially from it.
@OddBeMe I did look at the facts. This is right off the official government website.
https://doge.gov/savings
check it out.
@exitseven: The CCP censors don’t allow Odd to access unapproved information (not that he’d be curious enough to look). They’re merely protecting him and other Marxists from “misinformation” and “wrong thinking”.
First off we are not in a depression. Second the economy has nothing to do with DEI… actually now that I think about it maybe it does. The Biden admin was filled with DEI hires and it was the worst inflation in over 40 years.
It’s totally stupid hiring people or advancing people based on skin color. It’s got to be merit based otherwise you are not getting the best of the best you are just getting the most diverse.
tRump hires only "the best". But so many of his white hirings have turned out to be incompetent and they have left office.
Notice how many plane/helicopter crashes we have had lately. No doubt that tRump's hiring of incompetent white leadership in the Federal agencies and deregulation have had much to do with those tragedies.
@Sachem Biden made a DEI hire to run the FAA in Feb 2023. The shortage of Air Traffic Controllers was known at the time and one of the things that was supposed to be addressed. For some reason it never got done. Maybe Mayor Pete was on maternity leave.
There is a class action suit by 3000 white males who have all the qualifications to be an Air Traffic Controller yet they were never hired. Maybe the democrat DEI policies had something to do with this.
There were plenty of minor accidents and close calls while Biden was president. The problem was inherited by President Trump and Sean Duffy and they will fix it.
@exitseven
Phooey. It is always worse under Republicans due to deregulation and in hiring incompetent and sycophant whites both male and female.
@Sachem excessive regulations drive up costs and reduces efficiency Trump hires according to merit. . He finds the best person for the job and does not care about race.
Biden assembled the most incompetent and unqualified group of affirmative action rejects to serve on his cabinet. His Supreme Court pick was hired because she was a black woman. In confirmation hearings Sen John Kennedy questioned her at length. He determined that the questions he aske her could have been answered by any first year law student.
His whole cabinet was hired to checkboxes. He had black, Hispanic, Gay, Native American and transexual people. Their incompetence was stunning.
Ironically, former Boston mayor Marty Walsh was hired to represent the mentally challenged community and it turned out he was the smartest of the bunch. He deserted the sinking ship and took a job with the NHL.
@exitseven yet it took Doge to cause a bunch of airline crashes
DEI is a root cause of what is wrong with America. It needs to be addressed or we will not have a country in a few years. All the panic about the stock market is actually pretty funny because most ot them do not have two dimes to rub together.
Have you been watching all of these video clips about people like Obama, pelosi and Bernie Sanders talking about how America will be destroyed if we don't impose tariffs on other countries?
@pacificopete yes, and chuckle Schumer had a tirade about it as well. these hypocrites just hate the fact that there is no cut for them.
Not to mention, have you seen all the countries that are completely dropping their tariffs against America? Wow, maybe someday Chevrolet can sell cars in Europe.
Sigh. It's not the idea of tariffs, they're a useful negotiating tool when targetted and used rationally. It's also not unreasonable to respond to tariffs that actually exist or are threatened.
That's not what Trump's doing. He's plucking numbers out of the air and didn't even anticipate the entirely predictable sock market crash (which is going to make rich people even richer).
Don't you think the global situation might have been a bit different thirty years ago, which is where Fox "News" had to go back to in order to find Pelosi seemingly contradicting herself?
@pacificopete https://www.autoscout24.de/auto/chevrolet/ Of course you can buy them here. Nobody wants them, is all. In the meantime, the US has had 25% tariff on foreign trucks for half a century.
Here's a question for you and your brother "goaded".
Which would you prefer? Now, think this through, as if you were President Harris.
1. Reciprocal tariffs and identical import regulations on every product with every trading partner.
1. Zero tariffs and zero import regulations on every product with every trading partner.
3. The status quo as it was on January 19.
@pacificopete Are you stupid? You implied you can't buy a chevvy in Europe, I give you a link to where you can buy them. The US 25% tariff on imported trucks has been in place since 1963 - search for The Chicken Tax. Since the video of Pelosi in 1996, China has joined the WTO, eliminated many barriers to trade and had reduced its tariffs to around 3%. Trump just put a blanket tariff ten times as high on them.
@pacificopete You've clearly trained Google to feed you the nonsense you desire. Why don't you link to what it showed you?
Even if it's true, which it probably isn't, there's a hell of a difference between 1% and 4% compared to 10% and 40%.
"even if it's true" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Werel you outraged that European car tariffs were four times higher than American car tariffs? did you have trouble sleeping at night?
Ah, OK yes, 2.5% vs. 10%, except most companies manufacture where the customers are. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cq8kn5v37wxo
So you were wrong?
@pacificopete Unlike you, I admit when I was mistaken. Your turn.
Can Chevrolet sell cars in Europe?
Has the US had a 25% tariff on small trucks from abroad since 1963?
Is the difference between 2.5% and 10% as big as the difference between 10% and 40%?
Does a discrepancy in tariffs for one particular product justify imposing a higer tariff on absolutely everything?
I don't know about the truck tariff because I wasn't commenting on that.
Did you know that Chevrolet also makes cars?
@pacificopete I told you about the truck tariff already, the Chicken Tax, remember?
I gave you a link to an EU site where they sell Chevrolet cars, so obviously.
Almost as obviously as you avoided answering:
Can Chevrolet sell cars in Europe?
Has the US had a 25% tariff on small trucks from abroad since 1963?
Is the difference between 2.5% and 10% as big as the difference between 10% and 40%?

I didn't click on your link because just like you, I think you manipulate Google to make up your own fake links.
@pacificopete I don't use Google, and it's a direct link to a German car sales site. Selling Chevrolet cars. In Europe. Which leads me to ask you again:
Can Chevrolet sell cars in Europe?
Has the US had a 25% tariff on small trucks from abroad since 1963?
Is the difference between 2.5% and 10% as big as the difference between 10% and 40%?

Be a man, admit your mistakes.
I just meant that it is harder to sell American cars in Europe because of your unfair trade practices.
Obama loved tariffs. Did you hate him?
@pacificopete Does a discrepancy in tariffs for one particular product justify imposing a higer tariff on absolutely everything?
Yes!! What exactly are you crying about? I want you Germans to impose a 50,000% tariff on all American products. Then we can reciprocate.
@pacificopete is he jewrman? pardon my spelling
Maybe.
@pacificopete yeah. he doesn't understand. but on other ukranian news. zelensky has just bought 51% of a platinum mine! go look that up. zelensky has our depression money
Does the big guy get 10%?
@Dargil @pacificopete You two really can't form arguments, can you?
Trump's imposing ridiculous tariffs and telling you it's just a reaction to something that doesn't exist. There aren't many "American" cars over here because they're horribly inefficient and far too big. There are millions of American cars, though, all the Opels and Vauxhalls, for example, it's just they're made here.
@goaded bring me in then lol. American cars suck because of their engineers. they've been losing mostly for 45 years. maybe 40? i honestly don't know how car dealerships survive here if they are American! but ford did offer a discount to employee status so that's something. but i looked. i don't see any changes lol
@Sevenpointfive Well, the trucks are cheap, compared to the imports that are tariffed 25%.
@Sevenpointfive I've visited six continents, is that enough? My point is that General Motors owned those two brands, although you wouldn't think of them as American cars.
And, frankly, there's probably nearly as many East Asian cars, like Toyota, Hyundai, etc.
Free trade is good for the consumer.
@Sevenpointfive Hey, they could have required workers be paid a percentage of the median wage of their country, or something similar, but the corporations wouldn't want that. That would have needed unions.
@pacificopete The Ontario PM said that he will drop all tariffs if Trump does the same. Vietnam and Cambodia want to do the same thing, Japan has called president Trump and wants to talk. Next week others countries will follow.
@exitseven
It's working just like Trump planned it.
@exit
Affirmative action and DEI are both geared towards white males. 😂
@pacificopete yes, geared against them
yes. a certain group of people that we call ally are behind all of these programs to hurt the white man and eradicate him. i told this to a white gay man. and he was foaming at the mouth when he said but he hates gays! i said no he doesn't. when has he ever said that? i'm pretty sure he thought i was a racist but that's not really the term i'd use.
@pacificopete
Which of them called for 100% (or higher) tariffs?
Them?
chevy too it's villainous brother
Playing the same boring record. Final results (will) matter. He may turn out to be the best President since T Roosevelt.
No he won't. Lets not forget that we have been correct so far and you have been tragically wrong. Why should we stay here and pretend that the person who has been wrong all along will someone magically be correct in the future?
Trump is a failure. Always has been. Always will be. However, Trump never really suffer personally, its the people he associates with who always takes the fall. Guess what? This time it is USA that takes the fall for Trumps failure. How fun.
Nope. He won't. Not even a school named for him.
@Avicenna from their own stupid policies? No. And you’re getting closer to “Marxism”…still not quite there.
Marx is a philosopher, who claimed more centralized govt control of the economy would be better than capitalism. He’s half right. As the EU’s democratic socialism is the most successful.
The US’s “capitalist socialism” of giving private industry total control doesn’t work.
They don't know.
They don't care.
It's all a movie to them
You got a like because that picture is awesome
TY 😊🙏🏻
They knew this was going to happen and were willing to take the risk. The younger ones in particular are saying "fuck your 401k I want my country back." They grew up in crash after crash so if this one harms the fuckers who were responsible for all of it, then so be it.
Because stocks are irrelevant to those who can barely afford groceries.
DEI morphed into flat out racism which has no place here.
DEI is only another term for Affirmative Action. It has been conclusively proven that 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. If anything it has led to further discrimination against minorities. When this is pointed out, right wingers clam up and stop complaining.
@Sachem Not this time around. Blacks have been specifically recruited no matter their qualifications and the damage these ill prepared unskilled people caused was devastating to people around them and the company. Big companies can absorb such port decisions, small cannot. Some times the decisions threaten the life of the corporation such as Target, Budweiser with the brand Bud Light, and even Disney now as there was a hostile takeover attempt last year. These 3 were decisions made by white women but I have seen just as bad with black people and as well as white women. Climbing the corporate mountain produces the best, dropping one on top peak is the worst.
Then they start hiring in other black people. Making crap decisions and f’ing things up badly. Companies are fed up with it and the pressure the government gave and now the government doesn’t give them money to push it. You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear. That is what they are attempting to do. Its not my fault daddy abandoned them.
dude, get offline and go on a holiday
you're on this site every single fucking day obsessing over Trump
lol I guess Trump ain't the only one living rent free in your head. I live rent free in your head too
lol that's even more moronic
Even Republican critics are saying tRump's economic plan is causing a disaster. Imagine if a Democray had done that.
DEI hire = giving people an opportunity that don't belong, so I doubt the bs you saying.
So you want more racism to keep a recession from happening?
A temporary shift in the market is not called a depression. Your announcement is premature.
I love that lefties have to make up things to be upset about.
More clutching of pearls from the left
He wants people to depended on him..
so you got psychic powers now?
Racism injures EVERYBODY !!!
You might be depressed... lol... lol...
correlation does not imply causation
Yes it is to bad!
