The EU played tough just a few days ago about the tariffs, and now just as I and many other people with common sense expected, they and tons of other countries are ready to negotiate with Trump to make everyone's life better. Trump once again proves all the haters and hardcore Democrat fanatics wrong. In my opinion, the MAGA movement is the best thing that has ever happened to the US, and even as a European, I'm proud of President Trump.

What does "ready to negotiate" means to you? She is basically saying "you are right, we were not fair, and we are ready to make a deal that will be more fair towards your country". Of course she needs to play the tough even now, because if she doesn't she will seem like a hypocrite wuss after how big she was talking before. Face it buddy, Trump is saving the US and turning it into a power house. Maybe if you wouldn't consume Clown News Network and MSDNC 8 hours a day, you would have a clear mind.

She said that as allies negotating has always been a given and going straight to attempting (infantile) tariffs instead of negotiating with an ally is stupidity beyond her understanding. But that, as is given between larger nations, they will of course talk about it.

You very much need to realize that if USA wants to negotiate with the rest of the world USA does not need to issue global tariffs. The shockingly low number of countries trying to negotiate is worrying.

If the world's largest market, Europe, and USA's best and only ally, Europe, was unwilling to negotiate and talk... That would mean USA was worse than dead.

Lets make it simple. You have a business relation. You increase all your prices and say "Lets talk". They answer with "Lets talk, but don't think we won't increase our prices back and consider other partners in the meanwhile.". That is what played out. It is not a win to get into a weaker position and insult your best friend doing it.

A few things to keep in mind

• Speaking and negotiations normally doesn't mean giving eversthing the other party wants without getting something in return. Just because thats what trump is doing, as seen with the russian negoatiation, doesn't mean people do the same to him.
• Maybe just maybe not all politicians are like trump and do things just for greed and power. Some actually dont want to see the world burn but better it for the people. So its not a sign of weakness to want to stop a global economical crisis, but starting one for no other reason than stroking his own ego probably is.

Have fun spinning a different narrative that fits your worldview though, but dont complain to biden or the EU how your economy is bad when Trump actually did start an economic crisis.

The entire point is to get a fair deal. Because the EU treated the US unfairly so far. Trump cares more about the US than any other US president of the 21st century. He is a professional deal maker.

If that were actually the case, then the numbers would be different. You have tariffs on islands that don't even have a population—well, penguins, but that's it. But sure, penguins are hard negotiators; it makes sense to give them tariffs. Also, an actual reciprocal tariff would not need a 10% minimum, but that would require a reciprocal tariff to begin with and not one based on a trade deficit. A trade deficit is generally not a bad thing; it can have a variety of reasons, and most of them have only advantages for the consumer.
Last but not least, if trade disadvantages would actually be a reason, why not ask for renegotiations? He would have to actually work for it instead of just being able to say "I did something and while it crashed the economy I hope it gets better" but trump not being a good negotiator ruined that plan to begin with.

Country leaders are not kissing his ass though. Canada is openly mocking him, the EU is mostly criticizing him for being a crybaby and german politicians are calling his very basic assumptions wrong and dangerous. So no, no one is kissing his ass but everyone is mocking the U. S. And especially calling trump the weakest president and a shame for the U. S..

Well obviously. Talking is free, they lose nothing by simply opening up negotiations. The question is if they are seriously going to accept a deal or not, and even if they accept a deal, will they make other moves to cut their dependencies of American trade?

In the case of the EU, yes they are. They are planning their own counter-tariffs as we speak and also making plans to divert trade to other countries such as Canada and China. But again, talking is free so may as well entertain Trump for a bit.
