Trump's tariffs are reciprocal, which means the affected countries could reduce or eliminate them themselves at any time by reducing or removing the tariffs they've placed on US goods. It's a solid policy when used as a negotiation tactic, because in pretty much all instances, it will hurt other countries more than the US until they capitulate. The only probable exception to this would be Taiwan.

The EU was not formed specifically to screw the US; it was a globalist wet dream aimed at gradually eliminating the sovereignty (and cultural identity) of member countries and entrapping them in a codependent system. It has been sold as many other things, but that's clearly what it was intended to do based on comments made by those in charge, and their selective outrage.

The EU has a10% tariff on American cars but a 25% tariff on pickup trucks which is the major vehicle that they buy. I thought that Trump would implement reciprocal tariffs but maybe he is looking at the total tariffs paid and not on a per unit basis. I do not know the answer to that.

As far as I understand it USA's new tariffs is mainly in response to the EU's VAT import tax which is around 25% give or take since each member nation gets to set the exact level themselves. Of course VAT is not a tariff and Trump obviously does not know what he is doing so take from this what you will.

You can also look historically if you like since Trump has a long list of complete failures in negotiation or the fact that he has to resort to making these threats to have any kind of leverage where as good negotiators can make deals long before actually having to resort to stunts like this.

It was Trump that negotiated the withdrawal from Afghanistan and in essence capitulated to the Taliban. Biden just honored Trumps withdrawal plan rather than damage USA's credibility by breaking signed agreements.

The moment the ink was on that paper the tragedy had already started and every expert already warned about it. In fact, its pretty much the same kind of deal that Trump is currently trying to negotiate with Russia over Ukraine.

The Taliban upheld all of their conditions, because of course they did as that was literally what they were planning to do anyways. If USA is leaving Afghanistan why bother to fight them further or cause trouble? Better to start planning and preparing to overthrow the government when they leave. Which is exactly what they did. Trump handed Afghanistan to the Taliban on a silver platter.

Again, the moment you gave the Taliban a timeline to US departure then there was nothing more to do and nothing more that could be negotiated. Nothing USA wanted from the Taliban had any value since if the Taliban just waited then USA would be forced to leave without the Taliban having to give a single concession.

Also, the Trump-Taliban agreement were negotiated without the involvement of the Afghanistan government at the time which was a complete betrayal to USA's supposed allies. Just like how Trump negotiated with Russia without Ukraine or its allies. And just like when Trump negotiated with the Taliban, he gave Russia everything it wanted without getting anything in return.

Trump is a fucking joke when it comes to negotiations.
