The tariffs he is imposing do not make sense to economists. This is because they are not part of an economical plan; it is a political weapon designed to collapse the economy. They are another tool for Trump to compel loyalty from industries and companies in the US.

He is going to from law firm to law firm, from university to university, to bully them into pledging loyal to him. How so? by denying them federal money if they are not. Businesses as well. Why are the tariffs so widespread? By doing this, they must deal with him and make them dependent on him alone, and in exchange for their loyalty, he would give them some tariff relief. How would they show loyalty? They would contributions to his political campaigns; maybe they agree to champion his economic policy publicly; he'll have these businesses police employees workers and make sure no one working for that company works for his political opponents. This is not economic policy, so that these companies come to him to pledge political loyalty. If we know his objectives--we know how to fight back.

Tariffs will make people pay more in stores. We end up paying for the tariffs, not other countries. Inflation will rise, a recession and then a depression will come about. We will all depend on him to make the country and economy better, but he won’t because he and his billionaire friends will get rich off the poor.
He will not want to leave office and has joked about a third term. I think he wants to stay.
Why do you think he used Musk to fire all those federal workers as well as others? He needs a lot of money in order to give a tax break to all the billionaires. The money has to come from somewhere

I do not understand why private colleges are receiving grant money from the federal government. Trump is right not to fund these communist indoctrination camps. Let them raise tuition or fire administrators. They should be paying taxes too,

He is defunding universities. By doing this, they must cater to him for him for any monetary help (federal grants). He would give them relief in exchange for their loyalty, or not allow political groups or demonstrations against him, etc happen on campuses.
