not without a suitable alternative. problem is people can't afford a place to live, capitalism overwhelmed their emotional/physical abilities and they can't climb their way back. Slow deterioration is hard to overcome.

had a local woman that lived under a bridge. talked to her and said shelter was terribly dangerous, better under bridge. talked to vietnam vets still living on the streets.

there's all kinda.

Ideally, we'd have robust services to get people out of their fixes when they are ready and willing to change.

camping out in front of people's businesses should be illegal. This is known as Methadone Mile and is across the street from City Hospital. It is in front of many businesses that depend on foot traffic. Nobody wants to go there anymore except to score. The cops used to just run them all off but the mayor thinks that they are just poor victims. The people that pay rent to have businesses in the area are really oppressors.

No, it should not be illegal; it is a symptom of one of the ways capitalism does not work for a country. It is also a symptom of not enough programs to help people get back on their feet again.

Yes, there are shelters in my city.. they camp out near the street in tents and they walk around your car when you’re at a stop light..  why I never take the metro!

If it is public property, yes.

I’ve mentioned this before in more detail so, I’ll keep it short and sweet : It is harder to get yourself out of debt than it is to easily get yourself into debt.

I know there will be someone who will point the finger so, I’ll type this Transportation, Connections, Phone + Service, and A Resume / Skillset go a long way in life & you need inherited wealth to make it easier on yourself to land an interview, get a job, get a house, start a family, and put your kids through college. So imagine how difficult it is when you are already in debt or have no money, filing for bankruptcy doesn’t automatically fix anything either. Why do people think this to be a video game where you hit a reset button and everything goes back the way it used to be, because that isn’t realistic.

i thought it was illegal? i remember it's been that way where i live for as long as i remember. the cops don't do anything about it because it's a hassle. they'll be out in a couple of days to get arrested again. i remember the homeless situation was so bad they would get arrested on purpose! 3 meals and a place to stay.

it's really a problem we need to address because i'm sure some of them still do this. this costs a lot of money and time when the solution should be solved already.

they need help they need homes not everybody is on drugs and drinking some people need actual help because they’re down on their luck and why should they have to suffer they need assistance not to be forgotten about

Of course not. In fact I think cities should put portopotties around known homeless encampments to keep them from shitting and pissing in the streets
