Isn't it time for Europeans to stop using paper straws?

I was just reading the poetry of U. S. President Donald J. Trump, specifically EO 14208: Ending Procurement and Forced Use of Paper Straws.

Many people (myself included) have found them ineffective—collapsing in drinks, disintegrating in one's mouth, and affecting taste. They are also not eco-friendly and just give Europeans something else to brag about besides free healthcare. In fact, they ruined my experience at the McDonald's in Britain, Amersterdam, and Romania.

I found paper straws to be worse than the EU regulations around packaging cigarettes. As an American, I simply do not need to see an actor portraying the death of a cancer victim when I smoke a cigarette. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy for those whose lives are decided for them.

Now that Trump has banned the used of paper straws, I think Europe should follow suit.

everyone is allocated one metal straw (by purchase), that is their straw to keep and use and maintain. special straw cleaning tools are sold and dishwashers improved to wash them... economy!

I 100% disagree with the asker. That being said, they are not biodegradable. They use PFAS, which makes them water-resistant which also stops them from being biodegradable. They are much more ecofriendly than plastic in every metric except water usage.
What magas are doing here is saying "you are not perfect so let me be the worst possible and let me blame you for it". That of course is BS but as they like to see the world burn, they have to complain about something being good for the economy in a way they don't fully grasp.
