A lot of alone all the time irl and go on internet to have attention, I don't think they feel so entitled to attention more like they don't know how to interact with actual people (becuase they don't have friends) and are miserable or depressive. Don't give them the excuse to do this but there's plenty of people online that are just miserable people in general so

Lonelyness. Cellphones in combination with social media have terribly negative effects on the human population. The people that created Facebook openly told that their intentions where good when they invented their platform but they admitted that it turned out different then they had hoped. So much so that they have banned their owner children from using it

Simply. They are lonely and don’t have anyone in real life. I don’t mind talking to someone unless they become annoying there are people who are lonely who don’t act like that so it’s not fair for me to say that’s the cause of it.

Some people just have that sense of entitlement it’s not worth arguing with them at some point you have to start ignoring them.

Because humans are a social species. Without companionship, it greatly erodes mental health.

It's not that they FEEL entitled to friendship, they ARE entitled to friendship. That does not mean that you have to be friends with them though.

People have needs of admiration, affirmation and being interesting, they think they can fulfill them with friend's substitute online.
