Why are people in real life so much more judgmental than online?

I find in regards to big age difference, people hate lot more in my real life than online. So many people say its OK online but I don't see them in real life.

In real life you get a potential sample of every kind of person, but that sample is being filtered through the local culture.

Online, you're getting a sample from a smaller range of people: the type who end up on sites like this, but those people are more likely to be the kind looking for acceptance of abnormal social behaviors.

People online can easily either fake their opinion to look more acceptable among the masses or be honest. Both without real consequences.

In real life, people mostly hide their true self to blend in with whatever the majority is.

Anomnity online gives license for honesty that face to face discussion does not. The rest of the crowd, especially when they're anonymous, is usually good advice.
