Yes! The access, anonymity and networking potential of the internet allows people to be more everything online, not just judgmental. The more interesting question is this: is the internet allowing people to be their truer selves, or is it allowing them to project a hyperbolic facsimile of themselves?
I think it’s the latter. Social media in particular has made attention whores of many of us. Not unlike the mainstream media itself, extremism sells. So people go online and project wildly extreme opinions and profess wildly extreme behavior. More than likely just to attract attention. Which is why most of them aren’t going out into the world with the same values. The ones who do, the tik tok pranksters and whatnot, they’re mostly paying the price for not delineating between the internet and real life. As well they should!

Openly, yes.
I'm sure in meatspace people are still thinking all the judgmental things they're not saying. Online they just have no reason not to say them.
online. though its mainly because there's consequences if you say bad stuff irl. but if your online especially using an account where no ones knows your real identity, its very easy to act badly
Yeah because in real life you probably wouldn't hear it at all.

Honestly people will be judgmental online or offline. Its their perception and or way of growing up, influences of something that makes them view things differently or feel different towards things. But people can troll because they can hide behind names and profiles and can practically be whoever they want.
I found that people on reddit are way more judgmental than people on here. But as a whole I think people are way more judgmental online because they have the freedom to say whatever they want anonymously.
It’s the same thing they just don’t talk about it out loud in person because they don’t want to get hit or embarrassed by a verbal confrontation
Yeah for sure. Online people can say things they wouldn't necessarily tell your face or tell in a group setting. The won't face the consequence of once upsetness and/or anger.
People are more rash to judgment, and more misunderstandings happen. There is less reason for empathy as it's the dissociation between IRL and Text.
I would say yes, mainly as in real life most are not confident or able to openly judge others.
For me it’s in real time, but online it a little less judgmental. So for the most parts I get it both ways
Yes. Some people have the guts online that they don't have in person.
Probably, because they tend to be bolder online and say things they would never say in a face to face situation.
I really only see a difference in their context. Are they at work? Will she- I mean they- suffer life consequences?
It's about equal, however it's different. In real life, it's more subtle. At least online, it's more obvious, just because people are more ballsy.
I don't think so, but they feel safer online to say what they think.
Nah, just more willing to voice it
I definitely think so.
hard to say in person is easier
Definitely. Hiding behind the Internet wall.
For sure
