Have you ever lived or is currently living with a fearmonger?

For starts I live with my mom who I take care of. She spends a lot of her time on Youtube and TikTok where you get some good information, incorrect information, hearsay, or exaggerated info. She believes that she can find more correct information on those social medias than Google itself for some reason and for someone who is highly educated, I don't understand why.

In recent news, it appears that the US may be soon approaching a darker time surrounding food, supplies, employment, and housing due to Trump's tariffs policies and how other countries have reacted. It is scary and we should be preparing for what is to come, I understand. However, she is under the impression that nothing is on the shelves at stores this very moment and when she go we'll have to prepare to see them empty. Maybe soon, but not today I told her. She's under the impression that Amazon isn't safe to order from if I need something before 2 weeks from now.

It's just really exhausting living with someone like this every time things like this comes. The last time was Covid which was tragic for many people, but those of us that survived through it, survived through it.

I am aware of censoring and often, the US censors our news so Tiktok is an outlet, but she doesn't understand that you have to be balanced on where you get news from
