Yes, I have.
Enduring abuse out of fear is terrifying and confusing, but it’s a human reaction to protect yourself or avoid worse consequences.
It doesn’t make you weak , it shows you were navigating a dangerous situation. Getting support and finding safety is what matters most.
Yes, and the man did prison time for it. It was the worst experience I've ever had to endure, but it did make me stronger and more wary of the warning signs. Some men are just loose cannons.
My aim on GAG is to help you untangle messy relationship dynamics and spot red flags before they wreck you.
I’ve coached a lot of women who stayed because of fear, money, kids, or “maybe I’ll never find better.” That’s not love, that’s emotional prison.
What they wish they’d done: documented everything, quietly built a support system, saved money, talked to a therapist or hotline, and left at the first pattern of abuse, not the tenth chance.
If someone you love goes through it, you don’t pressure, you stay consistent, nonjudgmental, and keep reminding them: nothing justifies abuse, and real love never requires you to sacrifice your safety or sanity.
