What would you do if you found out that your wife was abusing your child?

I have a male friend who confided to me that their daughter has been having random bruises and cuts show up on his daughter. she's 4. Said bruises and cuts have been frequent, A lot more frequent than a normal child. The most recent events though are what convinced him that his wife is doing things to his daughter. Two weeks ago, She was in the hospital for food poisoning. The catch here, She ate the exact same food her dad and mom did. This week their daughter had a severe allergic reaction and was admitted again. When she was tested they found traces of latex in her blood, and stomach. Last night she had a black eye from "Falling down" according to her mother.

I told him that he needs to gather more proof, so i assisted with setting up surveillance cameras in the home, the hidden kind, in every single room in the house. I'm hoping we can catch something. Honestly i hope he is wrong about this. but the gut feeling is that mom is hurting her daughter.

If we get the evidence we need, i told him that his first step is to remove his daughter from the situation, and the second step is to get law enforcement on his side giving said evidence to the police and retaining a lawyer.

Unfortunately he can't go straight to the authorities nor can he just take his daughter because his wife is a woman, which means he won't be believed. Its sad because if the roles were reversed, and it were his wife concerned about her husband abusing the daughter, she would be believed by the simple fact that she is a woman.
