Do you feel like your generation has the tools it needs to make it in the realm of family/and marriage, socially, financially, and economically? If not, what is holding your generation back from overall success? What can be done to fix that?

As an early millennial I'm exhausted from trying to keep up with what society says I'm supposed to be and have. Dating and marriage is pretty pointless these days too many things can go wrong. Owning a decent house is probably outside the price range of most of my generation. Even trailer Parks are getting more expensive than apartments. Apartments are getting pretty much like renting a closet. I went to college for free but only Because I'm mentally ill and qualified for a loan forgiveness program that I'm thankful for. College almost drove me insane. College algebra took me 4 times. My generation hangs on by a thread to survive. I was born in 1984 so I started on computers in kindergarten on an apple II. I'm pretty good with computers but IT is a mess for me. I spent two years in college trying to get it but I couldn't. Lie I said dating is horrible so I've given up. Too many things can go wrong. Being married isn't all fun and games. It's a lot of work that most people don't want to deal with. Life is hard but I think social media and online dating have only made it harder if not horribly unfair. I'm happy making 60000 a year at my therapist job. But yeah I wish I had more but do I need more. I'll never own a house like I want but I have to make do. Making do is something gen z will never understand. They want something they just whine until they get it. We know we have to work. But just do it half assed.
I don't have much optimism for my generation. I'm a Millennial, and I see a number of problems that are unique to Millennials that we REALLY need to solve, but I don't see us ever making much headway.
We need to fix all that stuff before my generation has a hope of being anything worth remembering.
No my gen is corrupt, spineless, and stupid. We helped push forward what the younger gen is today. My gen participates in all the stupid bullshit we see today like hookup culture and the woke bullshit hence now we have Genz dumb fucks saying a 19 year old is a pedo for dating a 17 year old LMAO. The world seems doomed at this point all we can do is just watch it burn and hopefully get nuked lol.
I wish I had more hope in fellow Gen z’s but as of now, I don’t really see it sadly, I feel like we have normalized a lot of nonsense.

The generations you're referring to isn't a serious concept, on top of being US-centric, the concept they are supposed to convey don't resist serious scrutiny by social science.
They can't be really valid because they are overlooking significant factors such as social class. If taking three people from the same generation, an average engineer doesn't act, react and perceive society in the same way than an average car seller or an average street sweeper. You might think they bear similar traits on a superficial level, due to age, but looking closely they don't, because all three aren't conditioned and don't experience the world in the same way.

I don't identify as a member of a generation.
What I believe to see: people of my age dealt with the threat of a nuclear war, world peace, innovative social experiments, environment protection and jump started the world into the electronic craze that we see today.
''Our'' ''future'' had mostly evaporated and what was left had been kidnapped and perverted.
Anyhow - the only ''generation'' that counts is the present world population as a whole.
I do see hope. Once we manage to alter the present course. I will not see that myself, though.
I feel hopeful about my generation.
I see a lot of education, environmental awareness, advocating for those without a voice, standing up to bullying, and empathy & compassion from the Gen Z in my community.
We were raised to respect our elders, listen to others, look from multiple sources and scan through all of it for the answers even if they don’t agree with yourself, and so on.
I see a lot of youth talk about mental health struggles, share vulnerabilities and strengths, also lift people up when no one did the same for them.
I have a lot of faith. At least from my community.
As a generation? Declining median income paired with unprecedented prices for both living and essentials costs.
It is not that it can not be done, but it is harder than ever. Your average 30 year old buying a house in 2025 is comparable to a 30 year old buying their Fifth house in 1970.
Look. It can be done. But if you are a representative average, read like most people so actually median, you are a lot worse off than your parents, or their parents or... you get it. And you are the first generation to be in this situation in modern times. It still can be solved, its just difficult to convince people that we need to kill the house market by building millions and sometimes dozens of millions more affordable houses for example.
Every generation is different and do things differently based on their previous generations, everyone believes they’re the best generation and how they do and experience things, but each generation fail the realize that their generation is based on Timely events during your youthful years, for example one generation knows only about walking, one generation only knows about wars, death diseases , one generation knows about cars, one generation knows about internet, one generation knows about social media and one generation knows about AI etc
I think the woke agenda needs to stop with the younger generations and kids are getting softer and softer because parents are being too easy on them.
But other than that, I do have hope for the younger generations. AI is now taking over and getting them much better results in their education than the old fashion ways. They will be more educated and much more equipped than we were growing up. I believe they'lll change society for the better.
mine yes, but we are older, some of these younger ones, it is questionable.
It almost seems that without the internet they would not survive, we never had the internet until we were older.
I never got my first computer until after Y2K, just in case the world stopped, but it didn't, and life was good.
Yes, we are heading into retirement and the ones that worked hard, saved their money and took care of their families will be okay. The ones that spend all their money on expensive vacations, big screen TVs and ten dollar lattes maybe not so much.
Since the 1970s wage has not adjust with inflation, which has gotten worse with every generation. It's only within the last 10 years has there started to have talks about adjusting the wages with fightback from the boomer generation trying to keep crippling wages in the working class. When the wages for the working class don't adjust for inflation every generation gets worse.
Lol, there is no future without Jesus. Really
🤷🏻♂️
Those rebellious teens I knew when I was a teen, give or take, this is what happens when you have kids...

My generation? Absolutely, we saw the downgrade of the social contract between citizens and state. The ownership of things to subscription, comodification of people as resources. We're still here being awesome
Gen X. Feral in utero. Woulda been nice if someone had told me that it's OK, even normal, to ask for help. That's caused lifelong problems tbh. Therapy has helped.
I don't worry for my generation , mostly all have done very well.
I worry for my daughters both in their 30s , despite the fact both are doing well , I think it's much tougher for them.
7 billion people have to die for the sake our planet and environment can recover. That's the truth.
Me personally yes, since I am part of the ruling class. My responsibility is making sure this happens for others as well.
They're all doomed in my books and my brains ahaha I joke I joke 🤣 😔 anyways I'm glad I'm not saddled up 🐎 🐴 with debt, offspring and a bitchy wife 🤮
The future of my generation is, well, death. I'm at that age in which we in the on-deck circle of Death's Ballpark.
I mean, we're not completely cooked yet, it's like a spectrum, half of us are doing really good, half of us aren't, and it's the richest young generation, and the most gym active, even though people claim we are the laziest generation. Gen Z
LOL, it's a story as old as time. Every generation looks up to its previous, and down to its next.
For Millennials? Heh.. No.. It seems like Gen Z is slowly learning from our dumb mistakes and not trying to follow the same path..
I don't feel hopeful about MY generation. Millennials and down are all completely fucked.
I feel that things are going to keep going downhill.
People aren't clones of everyone born in that decade.
Meh I hope it'll be great but I don't really know
Not with what Trump and others are doing to our environment.
The future of my generation is The Big Dirt Nap.
It is not my generation I am worried about…. Most of my generation can survive where these generations today have to google it first….
I do in that I pray for the best and trust in God because otherwise we live in a shitshow because of the new generation
My generation (Baby Boomers) had SO much promise, but frankly squadered its obvious gifts by becoming like every preceding generation.
To fix this, the government needs to change and the tense and boring atmosphere needs to be eliminated.
Im very inspired but there gonna be bigger challenges I'll have to face now thst AI is on the rise
I'm Generation X, but I'm not really optimistic... we'll see what the future brings.
No but who cares for the masses giving en me and mine are okay
Next gen be digital. We keep getting less smarter. Everything on computers now and days.
im meh about it
who knows what will happen
They are set up for failure
no we're cooked
Not at all. Flop show.
Depends where you live.
I don’t feel anything
There's no hope for the human race!
We all are trolls that's all
I don’t care
No not even the slightest
Hell no.
