“Overtime will be untaxed!”

“Social Security benefits will be tax free"

Yesterday when Congress asked OMB point-blank in a congressional hearing whether any of those things were true, the answers were clear: No. All are still taxed.

Both millennials & elderly as well as unionized trades all pointed to these promises as to reasons why the supported Trump in 2024.

Tips ONLY SHOULD be tax free + tipped wage amount

Tips ONLY SHOULD be tax free + regular min wage amount

Social Security income ONLY SHOULD be tax free

Overtime ONLY SHOULD be tax free

Overtime should be taxed like any other wages.

Tips are a special case. In our extremist Capitalist system, service workers are paid far less than minimum wage and then forced to depend on the charity of customers to round out a fair wage. They are expected to report their income from tips and pay taxes on it. No one reports every dollar. So... 1.) Everyone cheats the taxman when it comes to tips. 2.) It's impossible to police reporting of income from tips. So why try? If we're gonna keep this fucked up system, take tips out of the taxable income category. Cut the people at the bottom a break for once.

Social Security is just stupid. The government gives people a benefit that they have funded with payroll taxes over their entire career. They then tax the benefit negating the effect of a part of the benefit for all recipients. It's asinine. Why complicate the tax code and place the reporting burden on the IRS and Social Security Administration. Just make the SS income non taxable.

Did tRump lie about these promises? Hell yes he lied. He lies about everything. Is a Republican Congress gonna pass any of these ideas? Not a chance in hell. They are focused on giving tax breaks to the wealthy and corporations. "The People" can go fuck themselves as usual. "The People" don't have PACs that fill politicians pockets with bribes.

Is there any moron out there who actually thinks these politicians really view themselves as servants of the people who elected them? Look at their actions. Capitalists, Oligarchs, own the House, Senate, and Presidency. Your votes are completely irrelevant and have been for decades.

Tips should be tax free. It will cost more to chase after a waitress pocketing a ten dollar tip. Social security should not be taxed. It is absurd that people get a payment from the government only to give some of it back. Taxes on overtime I am not sure about. When you work overtime is just part of your wages and should be taxed.

I like other things about the bill as well. The district courts that are blocking President Trump will be defunded and the SALT restriction will be raised to 30K.
