My work said they would give me a big payrise at the end of last year, but never came through?

Basically at the end of last year they gave me a great performance review, and stated I would be given a payrise of a few dollars early this year.

Now this year has come by, they have only given me a small one, which everyone else gets ( including the slack workers) . The company ended up having financial problems at the beginning of this year and let some people go. However I don't think it's fair to punish good workers.

Do you think I should complain about it? Or just accept the small increase? And yes I am a good worker with stats to back it up.

You technically were given a pay rise. You only have grounds to complain if you have the new promised wage amount in writing from them, and your current wage does not match that figure. Otherwise, if you were told that you’d be given a generic pay rise, then they have held up their end of the promise.

You need to go into it with the possibility that you might have to walk out. If not your boss will never respect you.
