Only hardcore leftists will vote "yes." It's part of the "peace and love" that they promote.
I don't think so.
But they do look out for leadership role models, subconsciously knowing that they do not have the stable cultural background and self identification that i. e. European nations foot on.
This explains popular figures like Superman, Batman, Mickey Mouse, Scrooge McDuck, Santa Claus or Rambo.
One other reason could be the brainwash to consume without questioning that is being applied since many decades - the ability to make own decisions and to have own thoughts had been removed in a majority of them. So it is natural (to them) to seek a Fuehrer.
But a KING? - that would require unity.
LOL, you need to have a pure race/bloodline linked to aristocracy to have a "king".
America is a mixed race people, mostly criminals who fled Europe all those decades ago.
It would be a joker , not a king, that would be installed into a palace. No one in the world would recognise such as a "king" either.
An American WANTS to be an Emperor not a king. He's in the White House and is creating an unstable world economy because his buddies and ego think he knows how to get his name on an era in world history instead of making the world a better place for the electorate.
Actually trump is an expert on economy.
@strateguy632 On handing the economy to his chums and tanking it for smaller investors. You saw what happened with his crypto competition? The top 50 owners of his "crypto" currency got to have a dinner with him (imagine the millions he got from that) all dumped their holdings after "winning" access to the president.
He's the most corrupt president by leagues than all previous ones.
yes for a short period of time. only way gonna fix some of the terribly broken mess.
Congress is controlled by huge rich industries so they are useless.
I said this years ago what is needed... we got one after a period similar to the dark ages. amazing.
@anon Ah, but the constitution doesn't work like that. The founders did not install an on/off switch for one-sided convenience.
In fairness of conversation.
More than half of the US do not think the country is broken. It runs fine set up as it was and agree it simply needed updating.
Trump supporters are learning through the courts rulings you cannot have a King and a constitution. And the constitution was created to out the Kings.
true. I've called for a king long ago before trump ran. It's the only way sadly, otherwise we meander into a debt problem... and that may happen anyways. I'm sure people love to live life beyond their means on a government credit card but not all of us want the consequences of that. your government decades ago said this is a big problem... and then it was amplifed as they demonstrated their incompetence and inability to deal with it. Someone is dealing with it in one fell swoop, so strap on your safety belt, it could get ugly, lets hope not.
there's still some check and balance, he's not a king yet but no question the power is tilted.
The constitution... Obama threw out most of it, we will want to bring that back front and center within next election or two.
OMG "we meander into a debt problem"? The Republican bill is going to massively increase the deficit and debt, by trillions. That's even with offsetting it with a $trillion of vicious cuts to programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and SNAP that keep people alive. All the money goes to the richest.
@goaded valid, and if we go there, he botched it and were screwed. at least maybe, we'll have more industry activity again, to defer the inevitable. Here's a drink to aa1 status...
King? No. The left just doesn't recognize and understand Trump's real presidential leadership because they got used to 4 miserable years of Basement Biden falling up stairs, falling off bicycles, wandering aimlessly, babbling incoherently, and shitting his pants.
Trump already is no? No need to vote right?
MAGA morons do. Trump voters were most likely to be enamored by Lady Di stories & royals. Fools.
No, but it looks like the increasingly inaccurately named Republicans do.
A minority wants an absolute ruler, not necessarily a King. More like a dictator who answers to no one who can make changes by edict.
no but we had 4 years without a president and the country is a mess.
@goaded crime, inflation, illegal aliens, murders, huge national debt, waste and corruption, endless wars, civil unrest, men playing in girls sports, antisemitism, DEI hires, tanking stock market, astronauts stuck in space, and maybe at least a dozen other things that got messed up in the terrible four years we had to endure between Trump's two terms.
The contrast between the two is shocking to say the least.
Crime, down. Inflation, down. Illegal aliens, bipartisan proposed solution blocked by Trump. Murders, down. Endless wars? Hello? Afghanistan - ended? Civil unrest - when? BLM was on Trump's watch, remember? Anti-semitism? Half the people protesting Israel's government are Jewish. Tanking stock market? The US just got downgraded, again, every time it's happened was under Trump. You're blaming the president for Boeing's failure?
Huge national debt? Are you kidding? The Republican bill will add trillions to the deficit, all to make the rich even richer.
"A fresh analysis from the Congressional Budget Office said the tax provisions would increase federal deficits by $3.8 trillion over the decade, while the changes to Medicaid, food stamps and other services would tally $1 trillion in reduced spending. The lowest-income households in the U. S. would see their resources drop, while the highest ones would see a boost, the CBO said." apnews.com/.../congress-republicans-tax-cuts-bill-deficit-trump-2baff1acf9bdf6060fd584c93c97a88b
As to your culture war effort, this guy said it best: "You donβt have to be that gung-ho on trans rights to realize that a world where girlsβ genitals need to be inspected before they can play any sport is worse for girls than a world where once in a while thereβs a trans girl on a girlsβ team." Evan Urquhart
Wasn't the British Crown their King for many years as the 13 colonies? Iconic number lol from 1600s to 1776 or 1700 whatever
The English always have trouble deciding whether or not we want a monarchy. We got rid of them once but then we invited them back so we could have Christmas again.
No we don't it's against everything we believe in.
Trump supporters are as dilousional as thin skin Trump is 😆😆😆
No. That's why we ousted the Brits!
You could have had Tecumseh - but you picked Washington.
@andreasderjuengere Maybe we didn't want Tecumseh.
He (Tecumseh) had more vision about a possible U! S! of ''A'' than most in his time. But ok...
Washington at least gave the common person back then what they could comprehend.
(or... still can, that is :) )
No, and there's no ridiculous excuse for it.
We want trump not any king.
America has a King.
No doubt he is very self-aware. His EO's are Kingly.
@Sal_Monella And foreign dignitaries treat him like a King.
No, just a good leader
Trumpsters do !!!
People hate freedom.
They want a dictator
Exactly
