There are predatory economic systems run by national governments whose only interests aren’t to improve the lives of ordinary citizens but it continually squeezes the people to enrich the system and keeping the peons weak. They invest heavily in various charity programs, but things that people actually care about such as security, decent infrastructure, healthcare, and saving for retirement are all neglected or ignored. They tax everything, spend recklessly, and then laugh behind closed doors when ordinary folks say they’re barely making ends meet. Am I the only one that thinks this is the case?

I think your assessment is accurate except for one part and that is that the money doesn't go back in the system as you put it, but instead goes into the pockets of very rich people who control the system. I think this isn't important but subtle difference.

Yes…but the squeezing to enrich non peons are becuase those peons are too stupid to notice. Or are too stupid to be misdirected on other non issues like immigration.
