Does your NEWS source lie?

Is it a dramatic way to talk about editorial policy?  Because there's nothing dramatic or new, it is common knowledge: Any news source is biased towards a political opinion and any of them have an audience they target which influences how news are presented, which topics are chosen etc.  It was the case pre-internet, it's still the case now, and it's even more complicated since web 2.0, now that everyone can be a self-proclaimed newspaper generating ad revenue on random social media. But the main point remains: Every source has an agenda, either for professional journalism or those flying solo.

I suspect they all lie because they have a story they are trying to tell and as well to incite people, to control them.

Those are not small lies.

If those comparisons are true, there should be lawsuits and it should be illegal and those editors and or dishrags shut down. We have to do that to protect our country as it's only going to get worse with AI. We will no longer know what is true and we could slaughter each other for lies, easily.

None of the local newspapers will run stories tht make democrats look bad. I read the NY Post if I want to get local news. I have noticed that the NY Post is now sold in s lot of convenience stores as well so I am not the only one who feels this way.

It's been common knowledge to have multiple sources. There is even a news aggregation website called "ground" news. It has a dozen news sources and puts them on a scale of biases left to right. You read two or three to learn about it.

It's not rocket science.

Absolutely. But that's why I get news from 5 or 6 places. Compare the lies, think about the story I'm actually being told.

It turns out that you can see through most lies by looking at the who, what, where, when and why of a story.

99.99% of the time, Fox doesn't! But, every so often, I hear them say something that's a lie (ex: Lee Oswald killed Kennedy, middle eastern hijackers did Sept. 11th, there's no cure for cancer, etc.).

My most trusted news source (Trunews) would never deliberately lie. But they (Faith & Values) have ended the Trunews portion of their podcasts (by instruction of the Holy Spirit) and told to concentrate on the Morning Manna portion. Hopefully the Trunews archives will still be available for those wishing to see the last year or so of that very truthful program

I actually do listen to multiple news outlets. I have found that they like to edit the videos to change the meaning to their talking points. So usually. They don’t out right lie. They just love to bend the truth to the breaking point. Though some actually do speak with forked tongue!

I quit watching the news during covid.
What they were reporting was way different than what we were actually seeing every day, and I just never went back to watching it.
I check the weather on an app on my phone is pretty much it.
