Customer Reviews vs Buisness Owner Reviews. Do you enjoy writing reviews? Do you write bad reviews or Good Reviews?

How would it make you feel if a Buisness Owner wrote a bad review about you placing you on the black list of Customers? I was inspired to ask this question because in Italy now they have created on line platforms where Buisness Owners can write reviews on Customers especially bad ones. What are your thoughts concerning the topic?

I love reading reviews. I read them on Amazon to be sure 500 people didn’t get something that doesn’t work. I read them on EBay before I send money to a stranger trusting I will get something in return. I read them on Yelp of I’m looking for something from a local business because the business owners can respond to reviews.

I don’t care much for writing reviews, but if I’m super happy and want to help out a business that I would recommend to my closest friends, then I will leave one. I have only written one bad review and it was to be helpful to other unsuspecting patrons.

I don't play in reviews mini game that is mainly dominated by bots.
On the other hand, even if we forget internet anonymity, how a business owner will prevent a customer to use their services? Discrimination of a customer is a crime and even if a database with "bad customers" exist, rejecting giving them service will end up in court.

It's only fair I think to allow other businesses, especially small ones who can be easily affected by negative reviews from entitled or arrogant customers to warn others of these types. This is especially true in light of the influencer trend of attention seeking grifters trying to scam their way through life with online "content" that's just there to incite rage.

Me, I genuinely do write Google and Trust pilot reviews when prompted and use them to find insight into places or products that come to my interest.

I will rarely write a review for a restaurant, hotel etc. I find that I have little to add if they've already published 200+ reviews on their site. "Are they all legitimate?" is what I often ask.

It's different when I buy something from a seller on Ebay. If the experience was good, I think my review will help them in their scores. If the experience was bad, I try and sort it out with the seller in a one-to-one, private way.

I think a business owner writing a bad review reflects bad on him/her as well.
Because they’re saying “I’m not welcoming to the people that came to pay me money”


I personally only write reviews in extreme cases
Either the service was outstanding and deserves a shoutout


Or it was absolutely horrible and people should be warned to stay away.

No I don't write reviews. Almost never. I just wrote a review on a product because it had a subscription that wasn't mentioned in any other review or in the page of the product. I was just pissed off. Sometimes if someone specifically asks for feedback I might rate something or say this was good or bad but otherwise I never review anything. I don't wanna spend my time doing that.

Especially after I get customer service over the phone, I almost always leave a good review as long as they showed willingness to help and had a great and friendly attitude and was patient.

As for business owners, same thing. If I had a positive interaction with them, I'm happy to leave a nice review. I want others to succeed and if I can help them get there, I'm happy to do it.

Here in Thailand there are laws that will not allow certain negative reviews from customers.

Personally, I find ''reviews'' to be pointless, because many of those are fakes.

If I WOULD write reviews myself, then they would be 'good' of course... even if I'd need to say something 'bad'.

I am not concerned about reviews about myself as a customer - I know how to behave, even in tricky situations.

I write whatever I think about the product. For example, if the bottle keeps my clean water cool, it’s a good bottle. I discarded the bottle that doesn’t keep my water cool. I also know some ghetto cities I visited and my reviews for Mumbai, Delhi and other places I visited etc reflect my true feelings. I don’t love them. I think we should be able to write reviews about places too.

That... sounds delicious. I'm sour rose for a reason. And I have gotten like bad reviews by some old man as a roommate... so i gave him a reason to keep going. Talk as much shi as he wants, true or false.

Here in Thailand you cannot leave bad reviews , it's all part of " saving face " , I like the idea of business owners leaving reviews as some customers are simply arseholes.
