Ironically most of us grew up watching Kindergarten Cop and remember this scene. so I wonder how people would of react listening to this now.

I don’t know, man…. can't we just let people live? I thought this was a free country, and part of freedom is being allowed to live how you want, not just “live how you want as long as right wingers agree with it. Like I’m just not sure what the harm trans people cause is that we should be THIS up and arms about it.

It feels like a bunch of dudes trying to come up with a more intellectually-based reason than “Ew, gross! What if I was drunk and got fooled, and kissed a trans-woman!” Like no one seems mad about women who transition to men, but everyone’s upset about men transitioning to women…. what’s the difference, and why the obvious disparity between the two genders being transitioned to? Like the reasoning can’t just be “ugh, that’s weird and gay”, lmfao.

I don’t know, I think I would just take all of this much more seriously if transphobic people hated F-to-M trans people or if homophobic people hated lesbians as much as gay men, with equal vitriol, but they really don’t seem to, and that kind of gives the game away. It feels like the common denominator is that it’s often just dudes who seem afraid to encounter a dick. The women who are on this stuff are usually either hyper-Christian religious lunatics or redneck “pick me” chicks trying to appease the men they live around.

It just seems like a very unserious faction of objectors, who are just viscerally offended but are trying to intellectualize their reasoning, or latch onto the very minuscule and practically non-existent issue of biological men playing women’s sports, that’s barely even a thing that happens in reality, in a desperate attempt to look rational and not based in hate.

I can tell you why they demonize mtf but not ftm. Its because they innately see them as men and men are more likely to be predators even if they don't want to make the logical next step in that thought process. They absolve themselves of that stereotype (even when they are likely the most guilty of it) and press it upon transwomen as being the predators.

As for why they don't care about ftm or lesbians is because they infantalize women. They think we don't know better. That we are weaker. They still see ftm as confused women in the end and as not a threat.

Honestly, transphobes/homophobes are usually the dangerous ones you should be looking out for. They project their inner desires to harm others onto the innocent ones just trying to live their life.

I’m just wondering who else you could be referring to, that’s all. Otherwise the statement doesn’t make any sense. You say it’s moronic to define your gender by anything but your genitals. Ok, but…. the people you’re insinuating about who would do that are trans or nonbinary people…. literally the LGBTQ community. There’s no one else who does that, by definition, other than maybe some subsets of LGBTQ that I may be less aware of in fine detail. So, I mean, just say what you have to say, or imply what you want to imply, just don’t be shocked when people recognize and try to throw your hands up and play innocent, like everyone else is overreacting. I don’t really think of “not homophobic” as a thing, that’s just a normal state of existence and be respectful of others. Homophobia is the abnormality, it’s irrational and unwarranted disdain for shit that has nothing to do with you and no negative bearing on your life. It’s a “you-problem” if it bothers you or makes you uncomfortable. So I’m just living free of that affliction, really, I don’t need to cut my balls off for anything🤷‍♂️

It doesn’t shake anything for me. It doesn’t bother me at all that the kid said it. That wasn’t even the original context within the movie. I watched the movie a couple years ago for a laugh, I probably chuckled or made the same comment about hating that child actor. It’s not the concept of that binary idea that got my attention, it was your additional spin on it and the obvious energy behind your comments.

Part of freedom is freedom to be trans in public, whether you think it’s natural or learned, whether you think it’s right or wrong. It’s an issue of freedom, not orientation.

You can try to be cutesy about it, but you and I everyone else knows what you mean. Just because you stop short of saying it out loud doesn’t mean you’re not implying it.

You wanted attention by posting this. I’m giving it to you. I only commented because I recognized that kid and I hated him back in the day. But I’m not just going to ignore a dumb comment and just say “haha, I hate that kid.” And you know you didn’t want me to either, you wanted this exact conversation.

Kindergarten Cop as written back in the late 1980's would not have been accepted for production let alone made into a film, if it had been presented to the studios any-time in the last 5 years and if the film had been made, the name might have been the same but the storyline would have been drastically different.
