If you were a state governor, what would be your priorities?

Mine: Mental healthcare and emergency services (fire, rescue, and EMS) reforms.

Sadly, jails and prisons have become the defacto mental health "hospitals". Law enforcement, EMS, and corrections have very little training or knowledge on how to properly identify and deal with mental illness. Recently, those experiencing medical emergencies and even those with Autism have been mistaken as DUI suspects. I have read many instances of mentally ill dying in the hands of law enforcement.

Second, I want to address the disparities with fire and EMS. These services are in line with law enforcement in terms of importance. They shall be treated as integral public safety functions.

exellent. I'd reform prison into actual reform, healing and get people making amends... a cleansing process as opposed to just punishment.

Safety #1: police and social services.

Help 411 would rescue anyone in trouble.

Human trafficking: Traffickers executed when caught.

Prostitution legal probably, but legislated.

Responsibility #2: regarding legal issues, disputes, accidents.

Trash - I'd enforce penalties and promote cleanliness and recycling.

I think exitseven hit the nail right on the head. Promoting individual prosperity by promoting employment and businesses, decreasing taxes, and attempting to eliminate government financial waste. And personally I think the latter would include doing everything in the States power to make welfare more efficient. We got way too many grown ass people sitting around collecting food stamps with the excuse that they can't get the cushy job that they think they deserve.

Mental health care is not an easy problem to solve. Involuntary commitments used to be horribly abused. Now it's much harder to force someone into treatment, but as a result we have people living on the street, barely able to care for themselves, and many die young.

Creating a business friendly state through lower taxes and fewer restrictions. Once people get good jobs and the state government collects more taxes other problems like education and law enforcement can be addressed.
