He is entitled to a Jury trial, and I am sure he will opt for one. The government will argue pretrial motions for as long as possible to keep him in jail for as long as possible. I think the fact that the government violated his civil rights and that he apparently is not a human trafficker or a gang member has already biased the jury pool against a guilty verdict, and rightfully so if those things pertain at all - which they certainly should.

It is the right of every person in the United States and every person subject to us jurisdiction. However, Trump has decided that he doesn't have to provide due process to anyone and he is sort of right about that since he's not being prosecuted for repeatedly breaking the law.

@ProbablyClueless That is simply a police report containing the opinions of police regarding possible gang membership. It is not a crime to belong to a gang, if he ever did. I worked in a prison where guards would try to establish gang membership based on tattoos, and it never went well since that method is very unreliable. A lot of people get gang tattoos to avoid being victimized by gangs - and now of course, those same people get victimized by the US government. Ironic.

A million people were not at the Capitol and only a couple of hundred actually went inside. I think that they showed a great deal of restraint and the vast majority of the people that went inside just walked through being guided by security guards and then exiting the building. For doing that , they were incarcerated for 4 years , many with none of the due process demanded by democrats for illegal aliens.
