Do you believe that Hell is a real place or just made up to scare people into being good law-abiding citizens?

I don’t know. I tend to think it’s probably not a “place” in the way we tend to perceive space and time. It could very well be a state of mind on our death beds. That experience of seeing your life flash before your eyes when you’re in mortal danger, for example. It’s widely reported among secular people and people of all religions. If you were a terrible person and you had to relive all of the bad things you did to yourself and others in your lifetime, it would be torturous. And if you did actually die, then that would have been the rest of eternity as you could perceive it. Like a lot of profound moments, it probably seems like it lasts much longer than it does.
Religion was the earliest science; an attempt to explain the parts of our world and our very own nature that confound us the most.
In every way that science has failed to explain some things, it’s perfectly reasonable to return to religion and philosophy for explanations of them.

If you are familiar with BCP, (book of common prayer, 1662), for Morning and Evening Prayer you will be aware of the order of service.


Part of this order is something called the Apostles Creed.


As you read through the Creed you will notice:
“He descended into hell ; The third day he rose again from the dead.


The interesting concept surrounding this is that many people associate these three days representing The Trinity.


Most theologians will argue this and mention that he descended into helpful three days to clear up hell of the dead, or as Christians call them sinners.


I’m sorry if that was a bit boring, but I do think it’s a pretty good idea to include this concept regarding hell.

the problem is taking your hell with you to what's next, you don't want that. so cleanup and focus on heaven to go there and live out of your higher energy of enlightenment, love... joy, peace, gratitude...

“Hell” & “Heaven” were a concept to get people into their religion.

Really all I have to do is go to Church every Sunday, never question or critique The Bible, follow Ten Commandments to get into Heaven as a good boy? Awesome! And everyone else goes to damnation in Hell that I despise? Cool.

In the history of religion there was always a good place and a bad place, Christianity took that and did its own spin to it.

Of course it's made up, like pretty much everything else regarding religion. No offense to anyone, but I have a hard time understanding how anyone can take anything their particular religion says seriously, considering that there hundreds, if not thousands of faiths being practiced. How can any of them be right? Or maybe they're all fictitious. If they can't prove it, I don't groove it.

Heaven, hell, and purgatory are fictional places from mythology.

In order to enjoy heaven, or to be tormented in hell - humans need a physical body.
Heaven and hell are here on Earth, for rich people it's usually heaven, for poor people it's hell. I suppose for most people it's more like purgatory.

That's why Reincarnation is more realistic.
Human mind is a form of energy, and we all know that energy never disappears, it only changes form.
