Of course not, but as everyone knows, the purpose, or motive for establishing DEI was never to help Blacks or any other demographic -- it's purpose was always to get people to dislike each other, so that they'd vote against one another.
I for one do not need to be pandered to and treated like a helpless baby. I say no to DEI.

The main beneficiaries of DEI/Affirmative Action are white women. So why don't the critics mention that?
By the way, up to this time the primary beneficiaries had been white men. Here's an example:
Years ago I had a book about student life at Yale College. An impoverished white male student from a small farming village in Iowa was given a scholarship because of the school's diversification program. For 4 years he endured a long series of jokes about him being a yokel and a hillbilly. But he knew all those jokes were in fun and he had a great time at the school. He excelled as a student and graduated with honors. Now he was looking forward to a challenging but remunerative career.
He got all this because of the school's affirmative action program.
The year was 1880.
This story was not unique as impoverished white male scholars (such as from ancient Greece) were given scholarships to academies in Anatolia (Turkey), Mesopotamia, Persia, Egypt where they learned subjects that made their land into what is now regarded as the cradle of Western civilization. Without these diversification programs society as we know it would never have evolved as it did.
Society will and would have been fine. Successful and talented people always do well, if not in a company then on their own. They do need laws to protect them from discrimination and they also need those laws enforced. They do not need BS programs that hand them someone else’s job or place in a university. Asians and whites see this discrimination today but hopefully it is ending. Outrageously unqualified people have been given the slots of others who worked hard, have talent and the grades to prove it.

Then, getting to attend college is different. You get to gain the things needed for a job. You have to earn it with passing grades. How about that fella getting pushed aside for someone who didn't work four hard years for that chance?

A couple of years ago liberal David Pakman spoke about this issue. When seeking a job he listed his ethnicity as Hispanic and did not get any replies to his resume. Then he changed it and identified himself as Jewish. Suddenly, he got 150 job offers. Check with his channel if you don't believe it.

@sachem. I’ll address it. Yes, in the early days of DEI they did benefit most. I saw many of them get promoted for just that reason but also they were the most qualified of the DEI pool… yes, they were. Even Asian Indians benefited a lot. Then about 2014 through 2018 things changed completely to a black and black female push. Then I saw truly terrible hires and promotions. People who were just a year ago were working retail jobs now in the corporate elite with no knowledge, skills or training and many times they could not clearly speak English, write properly or create and drive programs. It was like playing a piano concerto and then you hit a dead key… it was so obvious and embarrassing but still they received special awards for being… there.
The man in that video is correct. DEI is insulting to blacks, and anyone who isn't a straight white male, because it assumes they are all inferior to and less capable than straight white males. It implies anyone else is incapable of succeeding without the help of special laws and policies favoring them. I find it very insulting.
"Affirmative Action" was necessary after the segregation era. But after anti-discrimination laws were passed, blacks eventually became fully integrated into society. They are now equals even though some economic disparities remain.
Nobody looks at race in schools, work places or neighborhoods. Black celebrities are ubiquitous. Mixed relationships and marriages are common.
Blacks now have the same opportunities to get educated and find jobs as everybody else. For those who. can't complete, it's their own fault.
I don't support DEI for people who can't fit in or are unqualified.
Diversity, equity and inclusion aren't about handouts. This man is confused. DEI is about leveling the playing field.
Studies have shown that people who are hiring employees hire employees who are most like themselves.
When a hiring manager is white, they call back white candidates 66% more, often even when white and black candidates have the same qualifications. This is implicit bias. It takes a long time and concerted efforts to eliminate implicit bias.
And oddly enough, hiring managers of color do NOT have similar biases. They generally weigh candidates far more equally, studies indicate.
And various programs that support students of color and promote people of color into colleges and important positions at work have schools and workplaces that recognize a variety of voices and solve a variety of problems that workplaces that have no such programs and positive goals don't.
I have been in many corporate hiring meeting, unlike you I would think. It is flat out racism and sexism against white males. Just look at the hiring of Ketanji Brown Jackson for the Supreme Court. Biden said he would only hire a black woman before she was even identified. That knocked out the vast majority of candidates. And she is a terrible judge. Plus she rambles as there was a study that showed she would speak 11,000 words on average when the most thoughtful and impactful judges on that court were speaking 1,000 on average. She is a total DEI hire and it shows. She was not the best to be selected. Biden could have insured a fair selection for the best but he didn’t because a black or a wouldn’t be selected so he made it mandatory. Sue is a sh! t judge and now we are saddled with her ramblings and chaotic thought processes. And deep down you know she wasn’t the best and you just don’t care but the country is moving past people like you.
To suggest that all non-white hiring managers are completely unbiased is pure fantasy. Maybe, @Screenwriter, you should try your luck with ones from India, in particular.
@Jersey2 It is not racism and sexism AGAINST white males. It is including others who were NEVER considered before. This may mean as a white male you are not the shoo-in you were in the past because you are competing with women and various minorities who were not in the running.
So, instead of 90 percent of workplaces being occupied by white males, it'll be more like 50%.
It has been very difficult for women and POC to get into corporate America because of bias and prejudice. White males have had a welcome mat for ages. The fact that white males' privilege is eroding somewhat is reverse racism or sexism. It is opening the door for everyone.
New voices carry with them new experiences and ideas and intelligence. Just because you think Katanji Brown was a bad choice doesn't mean all similar hires are or would be.
There are hires who look perfect on paper and in interviews who turn out to be failures, no matter what color, sex or ethnicity they happen to be. This always happens. DEI isn't perfect, but it is a start. It doesn't eliminate white males, it simply means they will, for a first time, have to compete with everyone else, and sometimes, they won't get hired because someone else is a better total package.
All you had to be before was white, male and qualified. Now there are a host of factors. And that's how it should be.

Again, I have been in those meetings and it is patently discriminatory. I was told by one company, a large financial firm, that I would not be leading a department there but would be hired at the same salary as the manger. The manager would be a black male who was yet to be identified and I would train him to do the job as I had such jobs and higher level jobs before. I refused the offer. I refused the counter offer to pay me even more. I told them what their new black HR manager was instituting was patently illegal and that they need to confer with their Labor Lawyer. I left for another company for even more money and that HR manager was fired 3 weeks later.
I saw just as bad when I was hiring manager. You do not know what you are talking about. You speak as someone who only listened to academics and it shows badly. I saw peole get 3 promotions in 2 years, multiple black people. No they weren’t deserving as they didn’t have the ability, they were shoved up for DEI targets. Ridiculous, illegal and immoral.
Now DEI departments are being eliminated and DEI hires are being washed out because they are not performing. I have seen atrocious performers that are DEI hires. Tech companies just let go a large number of black women at the beginning of the year because it is okay to value performance instead of race and sex. I don’t think you will ever understand as you live in text books and academic papers instead of in the trenches up close to this. You want to hear the funny part, I have arm loads of significant Diversity awards that I have won.
DEI and programs like it are useless all they do is elevate people into positions or places they have no right being in. Whether it be in business or education. It only cares about skin colour no other factor matters to it when it comes to elevating people based on merit, intelligence, etc it is by far one of the worst programs out there.
Programs like that may have had a place back during the segregation era but now a days they have no place.

A cursory examination of long-term democrat strongholds shows that they have never solved any of the problems that they claim are their top priorities. They are always well above the national average for unemployment, homelessness, addiction and violent crime. People of color in the US are disproportionately affected by all of those things. If the democrats haven’t done anything meaningful for you yet, why would they start now?
"Black people" need better networking, relational skills, solid family units, good quality food and disciplined study and health habits.

The fact that DEI exists implies that those who think it is good think that minorities (except the "white adjacent" minorities) absolutely need the standards to be lowered because they cannot pass them as is. Legacy admissions, in particular, are anti-DEI; your parents might have been able to afford to go to university, but a far smaller percentage of black people's parents could.

I know exactly what discrimination is like. I have experienced first hand, 25 times in the workplace when I was fired for my social deficits. I live at my parent's home at age 30 and can barely afford my car and my old RV. Don't tell me I don't have my own struggles.

There is a distinction between equality and equity.
Equality means allowing the same opportunity regardless of protected class.
Equity is an extension upon equality that provides handouts, assistance, and accommodation in an attempt to boost certain people up to the same level.
This is fine for people that need reasonable accommodation due to a handicap or legitimate disability, but it is "affirmative action" in disguise for anyone else, especially for reasons related to skin color, ethnicity, or race. We don't owe anyone handouts because of their race.
Diversity and inclusion is fine, except for hiring or emphasizing someone's race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation for employment decisions.
We shall be hiring and welcoming people based on their merits, work ethic, and skills rather than on a basis of race, sexual orientation, or gender which shall be irrelevant in most cases.
If a religious institution doesn't want to hire someone with another faith or ideals that violate their religious beliefs, they shall be able to do so. Same situation for the cake baker and the web designer. No one shall be forced to violate their own religious beliefs or convictions of faith to accommodate someone else!
