I say yes. But I also say no. As someone who is neither black or white I can look at this from an outsiders perspective. In this case I believe this kid is guilty. He knew what he was going to do. He also provoked him. While the kid may not have provoked him in the beginning in the initial confrontation. He provoked him by saying touch me and see what happens, or something to that manner. So he knew what he was going to do if the kid touched him. He had it figured out already. I don’t know the full story of why the kid was under a tent that wasn’t his school’s tent. I read some friends of his from the school who the tent belonged to allowed him to sit w them. But even so that does not warrant the use of deadly force.
As to your actual question yes I believe black privilege exist. A lot of friends who I know are cops have expressed when speaking w them that they have to treat black people different when dealing w them because of concerns of litigation, more likely to act out, to act violent. They patrol the neighborhoods differently, meaning they don’t patrol their neighborhoods as much because they (black community) feel like the cops are just out looking to arrest black people, men in particular. But it’s also not a privilege because a lot of people, when looking for a house aren’t likely to live around black people. This is anecdotal because I know of one friend who deals w real estate. She said it’s harder to get people to purchase houses in black communities. Even rich, black people usually don’t live in black communities.
I’ve been in medical for the last 20 years. I used to work at the prison processing inmates as far as their medical. Who do you think we had the most problems w? So yes we had to treat them different. Even as a nurse you had to be careful that you might lose your license because of accusations by one race in particular. Now I work in a hospital, still the same issues. Usually the loudest ones.
As for my background, I’m Native American. I say this because if you know somewhat about the history of the gov’t (white people) vs Native Americans, you’d know it wasn’t Disneyland. So you would think I would hate white people more, but I don’t. I’m not even saying I hate black people. I’m just saying what I’ve observed, what I’ve experienced. I do believe a lot of black people, not all, but a lot of black people are racist toward white people.

Derek chauvin was literally a cop. Your comparing his bail to some kid felon from a track meet.. Of course the older man Derek is going to have a higher bail set his crime has a higher weight than some guy that has no high title like a policeman.

If you look at the prison system of the US, the majority are colored. If you look at mandatory minimum sentences, they tend to affect those of a nonwhite skin tone.

If you have a ‘black sounding name’ you are less likely to get hired on average if you had a less ‘foreign’ sounding name.

You see police brutality, hate crimes, and shootings that affect nonwhites more. I highly doubt black privilege is more prominent than white privilege.

From what I've seen he didn't kneel on his neck but on his back.
The autospy showed no neck damage that would indicate kneeling on it.
It also showed he had an overdose of drugs in his body.

And lets say the cop did kill him. His trial should have been declared a mistrial because a jury member is on video stating he'd vote guilty no matter what.

If the races were reversed my opinion wouldn't change because i live in a country where skin color is beyond irrelevant and doesn't influence our opinions.
