Left-wingers in LA are rioting against ICE, because they are against deporting criminals and illegal aliens. I wonder where was the left-wing outrage during Bill Clinton's presidency? I would love to hear some excuses from Democrat loyalists.

When Bill Clinton was president regular taxpaying American citizens were still voting for democrats. Now they have lost quite a few prime demographic groups and if thy cannot prevent President Trump from deporting them all it will be a long time before they win another election.

Cracking down on both legal and illegal immigration used to be a largely bipartisan issue. It was during the 90s when the Democrats decided to play the race card and suddenly did a 180 on immigration.

Also, Clinton was very moderate for a Democrat. It wasn't until the Republicans took over Congress that Clinton was able to implement some of his policies. The Democrats wanted no part of some of Clinton's moderate or downright conservative policies. They stopped him cold.

The last time we had a balanced federal budget was under Clinton with republican help as democrats fought against it. It was also the first balanced budget in over four decades.

Up until roughly Obama's second term when identity politics had completely overtaken the Democratic strategy, the American left prioritized unions over illegal immigrants. This shift is a major reason why Trump eroded further into their voting block all three times, but it's also worth mentioning that even though border security has been a major issue in the southern states since before the Civil War (cited as the first and main reason Texas in particular joined the rebellion), the Republican party broadly never took it seriously until late in Trump's first term. In fact, the professional losers/advisor class of the GOP was known to have told presidential ticket candidates to avoid the subject entirely, calling it a "losing issue" as recently as the last primary, and treating it only as a useful talking point for congressional seats. Which, incidentally, is how that party's establishment treats almost everything except for tax cuts.
