Very good question! And my opinion is, if someone leaves their home country to go live and work elsewhere, it is only and only because their country is not good enough for them to live and work in or they are too good for their country. And they should have no right to make any kind of patriotic noise in the foreign country.

The largest diaspora of any country on the planet is of Indians, then Mexicans, then perhaps Chinese. The Arab countries have the world's largest population of expats. No foreign person is allowed to protest or make any patriotic noise in those Arab countries or else they will be thrown out. Why are Arab countries allowed to maintain such tyranny? Why are European countries and the West so tolerant to immigrants?

It is because the white people love playing the morally superior race when in fact they still exercise racism and slavery in non-traditional methods. All the low paying shit jobs are given to immigrants in these countries. Whites love having immigrants do their dirty jobs for cheap. This is racism and ecomic slavery.

The Arab countries are fucking racist too but they pay better and are not two faced like the West. Expats are treated like shit and constantly reminded that they are outsiders. At least there, you know your place and are not allowed to protest against anything. You live there by their rules or get the fuck out.

People living in a different country from their own, should not have the right to anything more than the fundamental rights to a safe and secure life. Nothing else. Because they chose to leave their country for something better. They are the selfish ones who don't think their country is good for them.

While the ones who won't leave their country even if it means death, are the true patriots.

The indigenous people of Mexico/ south America, who struggle to live in their own countries due to discrimination, Palestinians who would rather die than leave their land, Uygur people of China who refuse to back down in the face of oppression. African people who struggle every day just to survive. These are the true patriots. Not the ones who left their country for a better life.

Mexico and many such countries are unlivable

You can’t understand it unless you come from one such place

You love the culture and heritage but also have to live dirt poor there oppressed by some dime store dictators

So one can love the heritage and still refuse to live in the place

First world counties invented the open market and flooded the world with their own culture
The result is they opened the doors for people to come and go

It’s too fucken late to pretend like you can shut the door and have a homogeneous country with high walls and no access from the outside

Countries are built on multicultural foundations now

Far too many critical jobs are held together by people coming from other counties they cannot drop and leave overnight without catastrophic consequences

So instead of getting hung up on the flag
Maybe try not to spit in the face of people who chose to work for your country instead of their own

Celebration of heritage👍 I mean, we have people down south hellbent on being allowed to fly the flag of a country that seceded from ours and lost to us in a war. That’s way weirder to me than a Mexican flag.

One shouldn’t be expected to abandon their identity just because they move to another country, or have to renounce their past.

A country is just a place to live your life. How you live your life culturally, particularly in a supposedly free country, whether you moved there or were born there, doesn’t have to be to anybody’s standard or liking, you just have to remain in bounds of the laws of the land.

Nothing like seeing lawless people destroying property and setting things on fire in the USA while waving Mexico flags. That makes me want to bring in more illegal immigrants. They sure won me over that we need ICE to arrest less illegals.

I would think it is difficult to easily acquire a huge American flag in Mexico for one.

Another, this protest isn’t exactly “I want to go to America”.

The sign is specifically worded “Like the people who refuse to live there” which would imply this person doesn’t want to leave Mexico since its their home, but are outspoken against the government / political issues they deal with on a daily basis which is valid.

Same reason why during USA Domestic Protests we see 🇺🇸 flags and not 🇲🇽 flags.

If you ever played Europa Universalis you'd understand... Separatist rebels want to join an existing nation with their culture, or declare independence and form a new nation entirely. They are an enemy rebel army that are trying to conquer land belonging to the United States and plant their flag on it. The appropriate action is to send military units to squash the rebellion with overwhelming force as a counter insurgency and occupy the region for a time to prevent a resurgence.

You see Irish, Italian, Mexican, Confederate, and other flags flying in different parts of the country and certain neighborhoods. Israel supporters display their flags all the time. And what about gay pride flags?

There's nothing wrong with being proud of one's heritage.

The only problem is when they wave the flag of a foreign country while rioting, attacking law enforcement officials, and showing disdain for the USA. That sends a really bad and stupid message.

It is a strategic mistake. It just plays into Trump's agenda. My guess is 80% of Americans see the Mexican flags flying and lose sympathy for the protesters. But protests are always a rabble, almost by definition. What is happening in LA is only going to accelerate and increase political support for Trump's program of deportations. Nobody likes seeing people burning cars.
