I see it from countries too. They leave that place, don't want to go back, but then they're here flying that flag with all this "pride." Even claim this place is shit, but don't want to go back to where it must be heaven. You feel what I'm trying to say?

I think they're full of shit while they do that shit. Go back then if it's so much better. Know what I'm saying?

That makes sense. I would think they're just embracing their roots, though - it may not mean they want to go back down to the soil where those roots are. You can't really change where you're from, no matter who or where you are now - unless you've lived in some place long enough to forget maybe.

What about people that don't even know their home language but act like that's their people and shit? Like some Nordic mother fucker that's been in America for at least 3 generations of family and wouldn't even be able to get a job if they went back there. Or I guess a better more recent example would be these fools that wave a Mexican flag, but they don't have citizenship there, would get kicked out, and can't speak Spanish at all. Sure great great grandfather could, but he left for a reason, just sayin. I can't help but feel like they're so damn privileged that they don't appreciate what they got going on and would fail miserably if they got called out and got pushed into what is too far behind them. Cartels and shit would fuck them up, but they're fine over here talking shit.

Or like me, from somewhere in Africa but I'm not stupid. I don't know what tribe I came from or where I would fit in. Those mother fuckers live in mud huts and have no electricity. I'm good, and I'm not going to talk shit about how bad it is here where I have food on tap and get to play PS5 way more than any of those fuckers ever seen one. Know what I'm saying?

I'm ngl this is almost exclusively something I've only noticed Americans struggle with in terms of being true to oneself probably because of how much of it is built on the backs of immigrants. You make fair points but can there really not be a balance somewhere around it? Surely there must be some people who can at least acknowledge why their ancestors moved in the first place but maybe I'm wrong.
Complaining is another thing altogether though. I can't get that.

#Meetoo for reals. I have no love left for where I came from and don't ever plan on going back. I just don't my kids thinking they can take pride in being from there. There's nothing to have pride about and they're not from there.

Yes, The town I grew up in really went downhill and lots of people moved out. I moved to a more rural town with lots of open space.
