Yeah most definitely. Not trying to be arrogant, but I'm a prime example of that. My motivation in life isn't to ever take from others. I will never desire material possessions or money to the extent of not caring who I affect.

My motivation is for my family and loved ones to live the rest of their lives happily and to live the life I want to live. I've contemplated it a lot. To live my life happily, I wouldn't need a lot. I'd be happy living in a campervan for a good chunk of my life and settling down off-grid, living within my means.

I want to build a brand that affects people's lives positively and also gives purpose to my life. Something that gives me a legacy to be proud of and also makes my loved ones proud of me.

As to whether I'll achieve this grand dream... that has yet to be seen. But that is my motivation in life.

@thegreenyogi I can see that. A lot of your questions are to get insight about marketing too. I could be wrong though 😂

@HawkPerception Lol!! I've been caught!! Yes you're right. Also I'm pretty sure you'd never be able to guess what my brand idea is.

      @thegreenyogi You're right. I probably can't. I doubt you'd be able to guess mine either 😜

My guess as to what yours is, is probably something along the lines of boho lifestyle. It could be vegan yoga clothing or specialized yoga mats. Maybe online courses, classes and/or podcasts for yoga or just learning to meditate and ease your mind and stress. It could be something artistic that you sell on something like Etsy like candles, macrame home decor, or even naturopathic remedies. It might even be something related to sound therapy. Those are just the first guesses that come to mind

No, nobody achieves at the highest levels when there is no reward. It’s the whole reason we frown on communism. The crimes that self-proclaimed communists committed in their own financial interests are not one bit different from what goes on under capitalism.
Everyone hates communism because the idea of working harder for everyone’s benefit rather than for selfish reasons offends most people to their core. They demand wealth, fame or power; usually some combination of all three, and they have no desire to share any of it with anyone else.
Greed will destroy us all. Nobody cares because we veil it as “ambition” and “success”.

    Totally—there’s a difference.

Motivation is about wanting more for a reason—to grow, improve, challenge yourself, or reach something meaningful. It usually has a purpose behind it, and it can be pretty healthy.

Greed is more like wanting more just to have more. It’s not really about growth or passion—it’s about never being satisfied, and sometimes stepping over others to get what you want.

High motivation is an intense drive and enthusiasm. Greed is an excessive and insatiable desire to acquire or possess.

I think so, yes... greed is just self-serving and it also comes from a void, which is why, often... greedy people want to take away from others

high motivation comes from a drive... goal oriented people with a high-drive might seen overwhelming sometimes, in some ways... lol, but they won't necessarily step over you and leave you behind... their high motivation won't always make them lose sight but with greed, their sight is often focused on what's not theirs and they will take it away if they can

What separates the two is empathy. I was HIGHLY motivated to make a million dollars. And that first million is the hardest to make. But once I did I knew the odds of me ever ending up in the streets were slim. At that point my motivations changed. It became about helping others achieve what I had. The reality is not everyone can be rich. But no one should starve while another is gluttonous, no one should be in pain while there is medicine to alleviate it etc. And as long as I draw breath that is my drive. I still have the same drive. In my mind I am greedy. But my drive is as high as it ever was. It's just turned outwardly now.

I can't think of it as Greed , motivation begins with an idea when this idea really starts to work then natural motivation kicks in..

    Creation is creation..

You can never get by on greed the financial. success that may follow is part parcel of the creation , it gets to a point where it simply can't be stopped , it's like raising a very successful child.

You do all you can to protect and enhance , but that's not greed.

    I absolutely think there’s a difference

Greed is when you want to eat your slice and everyone else’s slice a swell

High motivation is when you’re willing to bake a large cake just to have a larger slice (even if other people end up with larger slices as well)

High motivation is not about reward and accumulation, it's about achievement.

    Greed is about accumulation only.

There's definitely a difference. Greed is rarely satisfied without high motivation, but you can have high motivation to serve others, which is the antithesis in many ways of greed.

Greed = I want more. Even if I don't need it.

Motivation = I want to accomplish something. It could be the accumulation of wealth and power. But it could be a thousand other things too.

Definitely, motivation comes from natural energy, curiosity a will to move forward and a zest for life. Greed is a pathology like alcoholism or gambeling addiction. An unnatural obsession.

Sure, with a person of moral character and integrity to resist the temptation that greed offers. It's up to the individual to keep that line defined.
